Jon's P.O.V

Uncle Benjen was missing, him and some rangers had gone beyond the wall a few days ago and my uncles horse returned without him yesterday, he was the only real family that I had here at Castle Black and it was hitting me really hard the fact that he might be dead. Luckily I had plenty of new friends to help me through this, Hannah especially.

"How are you feeling Jon?" Hannah asked as I was talking to San.

"Alright I guess."

"Look, I know how you feel Jon, Benjen is like an uncle to me too, and he's the first ranger, there is a good chance he might still be alive."

"But what if..."

"Jon. Thinking like that will make you ill, think positive."

"I don't know."

"Do it for me at least." I slowly nodded. "Okay, if you ever need to talk Jon, my door is always open."

"Okay."

Hannah walked over to me and gave a huge hug, that already made me feel better, Hannah patted me on the shoulder before walking away, I watched as her hair bounced with every step she made.

"Jon? Jon!" Said Sam snapping me out of my daydream.

"Huh? What?"

"Were you just checking Hannah out?"

"What? Don't be ridiculous."

"You were Jon, I saw you. Have you...got a crush on Hannah?"

"Even if I did what's the point? I'll be taking my oath in a week. Anyway she wouldn't want to be with a bastard."

"You don't know that. She may like you too."

"Just leave it Sam. It's never going to happen anyway."

I walked off leaving Sam alone and went down to the training grounds to vent my frustration.

Even if Sam was talking sense and Hannah does actually like me, how in seven hells would we be able to make it work? I'll be taking my oath so we'll never be able to marry or have children, it's better if things are just left the way they are.

Hannah's P.O.V

I felt so sorry for Jon, he was worried sick about his uncle, to be honest, so was I, Benjen was like an uncle to me too.

I was busy scrubbing the tables in the dining hall, thinking about Benjen, but also about Jon, I haven't been able to get him off my mind since that time in the forest, it was driving me to insanity, I have to come clean about it to someone...but who?

"Are you okay Hannah?" Sam asked. I didn't even hear him enter the room.

"Oh gods, you made me jump Sam. Y-yeah I'm alright."

"You don't look it to be honest."

I sighed "Sam, can you keep a secret?"

"Of course."

I put my brush down and took a deep breath.

"Okay, you promise not to tell a soul?"

"I promise."

"I...I think that I'm falling in love with Jon."

"Seriously?"

"I know, it's really stressing me. I don't know what to do."

"Tell him."

I scoffed. "Are you mad? He's going to think I've lost it, what would be the point of telling him something that's never going to work anyway, you'll all be taking your oath in a week."
