Jon's P.O.V
I couldn't take in what was happening, did I just get elected Lord Commander of the Nights Watch? Everyone came over to me and started to congratulate me, but there was one face I didn't see, Hannah wasn't here, she must have slipped outside when everyone was occupied.
Once the excitement had calmed down, I snuck off outside to try and find Hannah, I saw her down in the courtyard by herself and she didn't look happy, she was lashing out and swinging her sword constantly at a training mannequin, I slowly walked over to her before calling out.
"Is he not dead yet?"
Hannah spun round to look at me, her eyes were red from crying.
"Hannah, what's wrong?" I asked.
Hannah dropped her sword and began to sob.
"Everything's wrong Jon, why does nothing ever happen the way it should with us?"
I walked over and comforted Hannah with a small embrace.
"Don't worry love, this isn't the end of the world, I'll find a way to correct this. Also, as long as I'm Lord Commander, no one is going to harm you."
"But Jon, don't you remember? Now I'm no longer acting Commander of the Nights Watch, I'm going to be returning to Lakeside within a matter of days, we'll be lucky to see each other once a month." She wiped her eyes and looked up at me. "Please Jon, ask Stannis to pardon you from the Nights Watch, he's the only one who has the power to do so."
"I will do love, I promise. But for now, I have to put a few things right here, will you be able to wait for a few months?"
Hannah smiled and nodded, I gently cupped her cheek with my right hand and looked deep into her bright hazel eyes, I wiped one of her tears away and leaned towards her, planting a soft kiss on her lips. Hannah sighed and flung her arms over my shoulders deepening the kiss, luckily there was no one around to see us, gods know what the men would think if they saw their new Lord Commander making out with Lady Limeburn. Hannah moved closer towards me and wrapped one arm around my waist, pulling me closer towards her, I could feel my pants get tighter as I felt her body against mine.
"Hannah wait, we have to stop." I blurted as I took a step back. "You're getting me a bit too excited."
Hannah looked disappointed. "I thought you wanted it too Jon."
I smirked. "I do...just not here."
I gave Hannah a little wink and she smiled, I pulled her in for another tight hug before escorting her back inside.
One week later
Hannah was leaving for Lakeside tomorrow morning, and I wasn't looking forward to saying goodbye. Hannah had asked me to accompany her there until she managed to get settled in, which meant I'd at least get a little bit more time with her.
Hannah got her things together the next morning at the crack of dawn, it was a long ride to Lakeside so we had to leave as early as possible.
"You ready Jon?" Hannah asked as she prepared her horse.
"Yes m'lady."
I quickly got onto my horse and looked back at Hannah, I could clearly see a small tear in her eye as she looked around one last time.
"Are you okay Hannah?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's just strange having to finally say goodbye to this place after so many years."
Hannah took a deep breath and jumped onto her horse, and without looking back, we rode out of the gates leaving Castle Black behind.
Ramate met up with us near the forest, the people of the lakes had been travelling all day yesterday so they were fixing things up and preparing for Hannah's arrival.
