Neil' s POV:

Clumsily we got out of the train and looked for DD and Ali. They had promised to pick us up, since it was already quite late. After five minutes of texting back and forth we managed to find them at the meet up place. DD cleared his throat a little and hugged me briefly, before hugging Avni as well. Ali had a crooked smile on his. 

"Hey, love", he said as he pulled her into a tight hug and gave her a big kiss on her cheek. I felt my heart contract a little as I saw how familiar they were with each other. 

I shook my head slightly. 'No, they're not together, she's just confirmed it,' I told myself.

We said goodbye to Ali and Avni with a heavy heart and made our way back home.

As planned, the next evening, the date took place.

Needless to say, it was just amazing.

She looked breath-taking and we were able to talk all evening almost as if we had known each other for years. She was impressed by the food from my favorite restaurant. Later, as a small surprise, I drove her to the outskirts, where there was a small playground. The specialty of this playground was that in the left corner, there was an old locomotive. It was a little spruced up and had an open roof. 

I had asked DD to provide some candles and torches. He had also put some cushions and blankets in the locomotive so we would not get too cold. She was blown away from this place and this made me feel so relieved.

"Do you like it?", I still asked a little uncertain. She dropped onto the mountains of pillows and looked at me slightly irritated.

"Are you crazy? No one has ever done something like this for me!", she whispered, as if it was a secret. I sighed with relief and sat down next to her. "I cannot imagine that," I replied gently. Again, she looked at me in surprise.

"What can you not imagine?", she asked.

"I cannot imagine that no one has ever gone to such lengths to show you something", I replied.

She smiled slightly. "Why do you think so?", she asked, avoiding looking at me. I gently took her hand in mine and felt her startle a bit.

"You're beautiful," I admitted softly.

Startled, she looked at me and blushed. But then, she bit her lip, broke the eye contact and just stared ahead.

"Funny," she mumbled and the corner of her mouth jerked slightly upwards.

"Sorry, did I say something wrong?" I asked skeptically.

She closed her eyes briefly and shook her head.

"No, I- that was really nice of you. It's just- ", she sighed softly again.
