Jack Will
It was now Monday at school and Auggie and I were walking down the hallway holding hands. We got a few looks and glances by people, but that was fine with me. I couldn't stop smiling the entire day. It was as if something was controlling me... or someone. I giggles at the thought and then confirmed with myself of how gay I sounded.
August glanced at me raising an eyebrow. "S-Sorry," I said as best as possible trying not to giggle again. Auggie rolled his eyes as we finally reached the lunch room. We took our usual seats with a few friends of ours that we've gained over the years. Charlotte glanced at us smiling. I had told her everything by now of course, but she seemed very proud with her doing; even if I hadn't wanted her to do it.
"Rumor has it, you two are going out?" Said George. He had glasses and reddish blonde hair and grey eyes. "Um.. yeah-," I halfway stuttered out. George smiles at us and continued to eat. Nobody really had a problem with it I guess. After lunch was done, August had to go in the opposite direction as me so I hugged him and kissed his forehead. I told him I love him and we were off in our own directions.
I almost reached my class when I heard someone trying to get my attention. I turned around to see a few kids slightly shorter than me. "Hey?" I said a little confused. "So... you're a fag? Is that correct?" I looked around and then back at the three of them. "Uh... sure?" I said kind of laughing. One grabbed my arm and brought me closer to him. "You keep it up with you faggness, and I will- bring it on the freak." I glared at him and pulled away. "You won't lay a finger on him. He's the nicest kid in this school, top scholar, and has befriended just about everyone. You won't be able to hurt him, because before you even get a chance. I'll hurt you. You will be done for." I turned around about to walk to class. "Try it you faggot!" I turned around so quickly and without thinking socked the guy in the nose.
He looked at me and grabbed his now bleeding nose and smiled. I raised an eyebrow and it was too late. A teacher grabbed my arm as another teacher helped the kid to the nurses room.In the office I waited for the principle to let me in. As one kid walked out, I walked in. I looked at him and all I felt was anger running through my entire body. Stupid kid, he planned this!
I looked at my new principle, Mr. Lane, and frowned. He looked surprised to see me. "You're the one who punched Andrews?" I nodded a bit and sat down. "Why?" He asked and I just glanced sideways. "He called me a faggot and made fun of Auggie..." was all I said as he nodded. "I would've beat him up worse to be honest." I looked up at him smiling as we both laughed. "I'm going to need to suspend you for a week for punching him though, I'll go easy on you. But next time, come tell me and I'll make sure I do something about it." I nodded and before going to call home, I turned to look at him. "What are you going to do about him?" I asked, slightly hoping he'd be suspended for a week too. "After school detention for a week." I frowned and nodded. "Please keep and eye on Auggie for me if I can't be here for him." He nodded. "I'll do my best." I nodded and walked out the door to call my parents.
