song: loving is easy - rex orange country

it was hot today.

extremely hot that it could get you dehydrated. that was why i and new decided to stay at villa, doing nothing but chilling by the villa's private pool all day long.

so here i was now, been swimming around the pool since the last 15 minutes. the sun was gleaming above me, perfectly showing my shining tanned skin. i always love being under the sun though, inhaling the fresh air, feeling the breeze or just enjoying its warmth on my skin. well, my name said it all.

but of course i swam alone. after i tried to persuade new for so many times, he still insisted on not joining me to swim. the sun was way too hot and he wouldn't be able to bear it, he said. so there he was, sitting alone by the pool side,  enjoying the scenery of phuket through his yellow sunglasses as he sheltered under a big beach umbrella to avoid the sun directly shine on him.

but still, imagine if we actually could swim together.

"come on in the pool, hin! the water feels amazing." i tried for the umpteenth times. my hands splashed water towards him.

"i told you, i will never," he seemed to avoid the splashing water. "not in this extremely hot day."

i chuckled to hear his answer. actually, without even having to swim under this scorching heat of afternoon, his skin had already seem to get sunburned by the temperature itself.

so, as i could feel my muscles ached all over my body and also not wanting new to keep sitting alone, i finally got out of the pool. i reached out the towel that was hung on a chair not far by the pool to, drying my wet hair as i occasionaly waving it at him.

"tay, for fuck sake, you're annoying."

i giggled to see him overreacting again. as the water on my hair and body stopped dropping, i decided to rested my head on his thigh. i clearly had no doubt in doing this though. this was what bestfriends usually do, right?

"i seriously still dont get how could you bear the sun," said him. his hands began to play with the strands of my wet hair.

i chuckled then put my yellow sunglasses on, the matching ones that we both bought yesterday at chillva market.

"excuse me, hin do you even remember the meaning of my name?"

new shrugged both his shoulder nonchalantly, not answering my words afterwards.
