Trial Part I-Connies Testifys

Detective Connie Edwards then stood up to go and take the stand as she walked by Amber she smiled at her and stroked her cheek as she made her way up to the podium.

"State your whole name and circumstances with the case please" the interpreter asked

"Detective Constance or Connie Edwards of LAPD robbery homicide unit. I was with Amber the night she was assaulted"

"What is your relationship to the plaintiff?"

"Amber is my niece or uh god daughter my best friend and partner Phil and his wife Bubbles adopted her when her biological parents threw her out on the streets for being gay" Connie replied

Phil hearing the reply pulled Amber closer to him who was leaning against him clearly tense and just looked back at his wife as they exchanged a sad glance at eachother.

"Alright you may proceed" said the judge

"Now Miss Edwards, you and Miss Amberley Phillips were having a celebration for your upcoming wedding with your fiances correct?" Fred asked

"Yes that's right we had decided on a night out at the Showgirls night club we had just wanted to go have some drinks and have a good time with our fiancés"

"At which time you four were enjoying the party when a gentleman was trying to make conversation with you four?"

"yes thats what happened it was around maybe 10pmish and how it all started, it was me, my fiancé Roxy, Amber and her fiancé Jade we were all just hanging out when the one of the defendants Leroy the one who was the main ring leader of the sexual assault-"

"OBJECTION YOUR HONOR! This puppet sympathizer is clearly trying to jump to the point and make the assumption and image that my client is the rapist!" Shouted the boys lawyer Bob Vince

"Objection overruled. I'll hear the witness. Continue on miss Edwards" the judge said

"Anyways he had just came up from out of nowhere wanting to hook up with us and me and Amber told them to screw off and that we were here to hang out with our fiancés and were gay,taken and aren't interested so he took off and that was the last the three of us saw of them. So Roxy and I took off to go dance for a bit we assumed Jade was gonna stay with Amber who had quite a bit to drink that night when me and Roxy came back we saw they were gone so I assumed they were in the bathroom and Amber was throwing up being how tipsy she was already when we had seen her last. Jade came out around a few minutes in a rush and panicked seeing Amber wasn't there and she asked us if we had known where she went and we of course said no idea and ended up searching around for hours until we had found her"

"At which time, did you Jade, Roxy and Amber find Amber in the back room with no clothes to speak of?"

"It was like after maybe a good 30 mins of searching which felt like forever but eventually we had Jade look in the back room and she had found Amber lying completely nude lying on her stomach on the couch unconscious clearly after having her drink drugged inside with male ejaculate everywhere all over her the couch and floor. We then realized what had happened and feared being this happened to her before during the election between her and Campbell it was really upsetting- immediately me and Roxy took her wrapped her in a blanket and cleaned her off and dressed her back up in the bathroom while Jade called her father Phil"

"Miss Phillips was clearly left unattended while drunk and out of sight are you sure she couldn't have easily wandered off and went to have consensual sex with my clients do you find that to plausible?" Bob stood up and asked

"No like you just said she was tipsy and she can't really consent or would even go anywhere and also she's a gay women she's not interested in men whatsoever even while she was half drunk she said no to Leroy many times so she couldn't have went under her free will"

"Well drunk people will do stupid things Miss Edwards and she could have easily just been drunk and mistook the situation for what it wasn't..a young woman left impaired by alcohol alone can cause a lot of trouble and cause her to do things she wouldn't normally do. Why would you leave her alone like that? If this is all supposedly true?"

"I thought Jade was with her I had no idea. Jade has went to quickly use the bathroom and was gonna be back as soon as possible thinking just a second wouldn't hurt but clearly her judgement was impaired also having drank some. If I would have known I wouldn't have left. I would never let anything happen to Amber. I love her she's my other baby!She's like a daughter to me.." Connie said now choked up and in tears disgusted at the things Bob was implying about her and about Amber and the others just sickened

"No Further Questions your honor." Bob stated

Connie made her way back to where she originally sat Amber got up and went over to hug her seeing Connie obviously shaken and disturbed at Bobs interrogation and ignorance.

"It's okay you did fine.." Amber whispered and assured her patting her back as Connie sighed trying to gather herself together for Ambers sake.

"Thanks honey I'm not worried about me I'm worried about if you'll be able to handle being up there cuz it was even hard for me" Connie said as they sat back down briefly.

Amber now knowing she had take the stand next, was now even more nervous and scared beyond belief having to recap what happened at the party right in front of her biological parents and the prick lawyer of Leroy's,Bob. Connie was right if she a cop was having a hard time being up there with Bob pushing her into a corner How could She possibly do any better.

"Listen Amber if you don't wanna go up I don't blame you that dude on those pukes side is scary as fuck I'll go in your place or come up with you to help you recall events" Phil offered as he took her hand

"No-no I have to do this for myself. I got to face my fears. I can't just isolate myself from talking about what happened I have to try at least I can do this dad." Amber said patting his hand with her free one

"That's my good strong girl" Bubbles said coming down to give Amber some support before she went up hugging her from the back.

"Would the plaintiff miss Amberley Phillips come to the stand please" the interpreter announced

Amber took a deep breath as Phil squeezed her hand once more before she had to let go and go up for her testimony
