Chapter 2

Lunch came.

"Wait for me, I need to put something." Before you hear Jaehyun respond, you already dashed out to the next classroom.

Jaehyun stared at the back door where you left, waiting for you like a lost puppy, and he almost smiled at how cute you waddled back into the classroom.

"Let's go~" You cooed cheerfully.

Jaehyun followed and walked next to you, listening to your every word on what the room is and who is not allowed. Basically he only paid attention when it was the cafeteria, washroom, and singing and dancing studio. He was planning to join the club.

"What club are you in?" His voice was husky and low.

"I'm in the student council so I don't have to join one."

The latter nodded slowly as he recalled the location of the student council room.

"Come on. We still have some time to eat."

"I'm going to the washroom, wait for me."

You thought that it was odd to wait for him, but nodded nonetheless, "Do you remember the way?"

He nodded but suddenly grabbed your wrist. Pulling you along, you realized you came to face the male's washroom.

"Oh wow you didn't need to prove it but okay."

"Wait for me here." He mumbled lowly before entering.

You waited for a few seconds while looking at the scenery, and a shadow appeared behind you. You thought it was Jaehyun.

"Oh you're fast Jae―" Words died at your throat as you gulped.

The sight of your bully in front of you.

"Who said you could just leave the book on my desk?" His voice deep and face serious.

"Ms Kim assigned me a task so I had no choice―"

"At least leave a note!" Yuta screamed and you flinched.

Yuta's eyes wandered behind you and darkened.

"Who are you?" Jaehyun scoffed.

"No, who the fuck are you?"

Jaehyun placed an arm around your shoulder, "I'm her boyfriend, care to explain what are you doing to my girlfriend?" He questioned loud and clear while his eyes softened when they met your widened ones.

Yuta looked at you in disbelief. He clenched his fists and stepped closer to you. Jaehyun's grip on your shoulder tightened.

"We're not over yet." He muttered with his eyes looking straight into yours, even though his hair was in the way.

As he disappeared from your sight, you felt your knees weak.

"Are you okay?" His cold voice was back.

You nodded, "Thanks Jaehyun."

The latter said nothing but walked close to you. Your heart thumped loudly and you swear Jaehyun could hear it.

Arriving at the cafeteria, he turned to you, "Can I sit with you?"

You were taken aback but muttered a soft 'sure'.

As Jaehyun went to get food for both of you, you sat down at an empty table waiting for him. The students around you glanced your way from time to time, some even glared at you.

Meanwhile, someone accidentally bumped into Jaehyun at the counter.

"Tsk, such a hindrance."

"I'm too hungry for your bullshit." Jaehyun glanced at Yuta, "Besides, wouldn't want my girlfriend to wait long." He smirked.

Not wanting to create a scene, Yuta glared at him before leaving.

At the midst of eating, the boy abruptly asked a question.

"Why does that snob bully you?"

You almost choked on your food. Averting your eyes to the floor, you realized you had no idea as well. It was just one fine day when Yuta suddenly appeared and started doing them to you. You barely met him before.

"I-I don't know..." You said with your head low.

Jaehyun was somehow guilty and angry seeing you all sad.

"I'll protect you."
