Chapter 17

FINALLY. VALENTINE'S DAY. JAEHYUN'S BIRTHDAY.

It was the first thing you thought of when you woke up for water in the middle of the night.

You thought you wouldn't have to face sad Jaehyun ever again but...

Early in the morning, Jaehyun hopped onto your bed and shrieked in excitement. You groaned in shock since it was only 6 o'clock in the morning and it was a Sunday.

"Don't you remember what day is today?"

"No...?"

You watched as Jaehyun's eyes dropped and his lips pouted. As if a light bulb lit in his mind, he turned to you.

"I'm confessing to a girl I like today! Do you think she will accept me?"

This time, it was your turn to frown.

You still encouraged him with a smile though, "Of course she will! You're the almighty Jung Jaehyun!"

"I really hope she will, it's a very special day for me today..."

"Oh because it's Valentine's day?"

"Y-yeah..." He forced a smile.

It was a few seconds of silence when you decided to break it. The tension was too much for you to fall asleep again.

"I'll make breakfast, what do you want to eat?"

"Can I have waffles with syrup?"

"Anything for you." You smiled at him before leaving the room, but Jaehyun held onto your wrist.

"I'm going out with Doyoung and Mark at 11, can you join us?"

His puppy eyes showed full of hopes, but you know you have to reject him if you want to continue your plan.

"I'm sorry, Jaehyun-ah. I'm going out too. I'll be back at night after dinner."

He nodded solemnly before letting you go to the kitchen.

It was the first time having breakfast together with such a gloomy mood. Jaehyun was still frowning, his food was still untouched. You could only imagine how sad he was. You made a promise to yourself that the plan must run smoothly without an error.

"Is it not good? Do you want me to make something else for you?"

He looked up at you and shook his head.

After he finished and you washed up, it was already 10. Jaehyun was still in his room, getting ready to head out. Doyoung had called that they would be arriving earlier since they had to leave by 6 in the evening.

Jaehyun's mood went down more at the thought of having dinner alone. It was obvious that he was in a bad mood, but he never let it out on you, nor be angry at you that you forgot his special day.

The door opened and out came Jaehyun in a black shirt and black ripped jeans. His all black outfit made his skin look even paler. The way his hair was styled made him look so charismatic. Everything was so simple yet he looked so attractive.

"I'm going out now. Doyoung just reached." He told you as he walked to get a cup of water.

You were standing at the counter, seeing how his lips were still in a frown.

"Jae?"

"Yeah?" He turned to you and your heart did a thing.

You gestured him to come forward and when he did, you pulled him into a soft kiss.

Jaehyun gaped at your sudden action, but quickly melted into the kiss. His arms went around your waist and under your thighs, pulling you up to sit on the counter.

The soft kiss turned into a make out session. Your hands on his nape, his hands on your hips. As he let out a quiet moan, you pulled away and stifled a laugh at his whiney state.

His lips were red and swollen, his eyes staring into yours, a smile forming onto his face.

"Have fun, alright? I'll see you soon."

He nodded, his smile not fading any bit.

"Text me?"

You grinned and hummed softly, "I will."

Hours later and here you were, letter balloons halfway hung up, cake halfway baked , food halfway cooked.

Jaehyun texted you but you ignored on purpose, Mark texted you saying Jaehyun had been getting gloomier and pleaded you to finish up faster.

An hour later, you were finally done. After Doyoung texted you that they're on their way, you waited in the living room with the cake on your hand and lights switched off.

On the other hand, Jaehyun was so confused. He thought they were going to the arcade, but after having lunch in a restaurant, they said they want to hang out in Jaehyun's dorm, claiming that they're tired and it's getting bored outside. He had been texting you constantly and frowning every now and then because you never replied.

"Unlock the door, Jaehyun-ah." Doyoung gestured him.

He did what he was told and jumped in shock at the sight in front of him.
