Nightmares

chapter 2

"Doctor, um I'm not sure if you want to tell me yet but-" Was all  Rose could get out before he interupted her.

"The dream?" He asked surely."I'm not sure I can talk about it yet" voice slowly weakening and descending in volume. "There was a reason I woke up screaming" the doctor answered like an injured animal. His eyes full of hope that she'd understand why he

wouldn't-couldn't tell her yet.

Rose slowly walked away from the sink and sat down next to the alien. "Don't worry, you don't have to explain yourself to me. You can tell me whenever you want" she reassured him, stroking a side of his face with one of her hands. Which might have seemed like it was too friendly for just friends, but to them it was just.....them. The doctor and rose in the tardis, best of friends, nothing else. To rose's disappointment.

The doctor picked up his cup one last time to finish it. As he was about to get up to go and wash it, Rose had the same idea and beat him to it. She took the cup from his hands then walked over to the sink, but not without glancing him a merciful look first.

"Don't worry about me" the doctor answered knowing she was worried

"Yeah but-" she said in a shaky voice only to be cut off again

He then stood next to her, facing her once again a bit to closely."Don't worry about me" he repeated while looking into her eyes.

"Okay" she ended up mouthing, just couldn't get the words out.

"I'll see you in the morning" the time lord said sweetly

"Not if I see you first" rose repeated, from what she couldn't believe was just a few hours ago.

With that he put a kiss on her for head, like everynight. Then started walking towards his room.

"Doctor?" She said quickly, stopping him at the doorway.

"Yeah" he answered

"Just promise me you'll leave your door open" rose said still sounding worried

With a nod he went off to his room, leaving rose alone in the kitchen.
