I wake up back in the small beige room. Tori is staring at me, waiting, I guess.

- "See that wasn't so bad." She says.

- "Speak for yourself."

She laughs a little then starts tapping at her computer screen.

- "So, what was my result." I ask anxious.

- "Dauntless."

I'm relieved but a little disappointed at the same time. I thought I was different, I thought that maybe, just maybe, that I wouldn't get my faction of origin. But I guess that's fine, I mean at least I'm used to dauntless.

- "You can go now." Tori says.

- "Okay thanks."

I wipe away the sweat from my forehead and head outside where my mother should be waiting for me.

I see her black car parked, waiting for me.

- "So how did it go?" She asks anxiously.

- "Good." I reply.

- "What was your result?"

- "You know we're not supposed to say..."

- "Oh c'mon that's just a stupid erudite rule! Now tell me what you got?"

I can really see the dauntless side in my mother, she's curious and daring. Perfect for dauntless.

- "Fine. I got dauntless."

- "Oh that's great hunny!"

I pretty much tuned out the rest of the way home because my mom was going on and on about how happy she was about my result and blah blah blah.

I finally get to escape her babbling and decide to walk by the Pit.

I wanted to just sit and think but a shadow is distracting me.

- "Hello? Who's there?" I ask.

- "Emily? Is that you?" The shadow replies.

I then recognize the voice. It's Lucas.

- "Lucas!!" I run towards him and finally see his beautiful blue eyes and dark brown hair.

I hug him tight. Lucas is my best friend, I just trust him more than anyone and I really need him right now.

- "Hey Em." He says, hugging me back.

- "Where were you today?" I ask.

- "I was there. I just... Had to leave early because... The serum made me sick." He replies.

- "Oh... Ok." I say not to convinced.

I know he's not telling the truth, why would he lie to me? He's never lied to me before...

- "You know you can tell me anything right?"

- "Ya... Of course."

I'm not to convinced at his response but I move on.

- "So I know we're not supposed to share our results but... We're best friends right? I mean I don't think it would be a crime if we told each other... "

- "Well you never know. The Erudite made that rule and they've been in the dauntless compound a lot... Maybe we should just keep them to ourselves, just to be safe."

- "Um okay... Lucas are you alright? You don't seem like yourself."

- "I'm fine, trust me Em."

- "Alright..."

- "Well we better get some rest. Big day tomorrow at the choosing ceremony."

- "Ya your right. Well bye, I'll see you tomorrow."

I hug him one last time and stare into his perfect blue eyes. Lately I've been feeling something between me and Lucas, we've always been friends but what if I want to be more than friends? It might ruin our friendship if it doesn't work out though... So I keep pushing that feeling away. But it's so hard when the perfect boy is looking right at you with his dreamy eyes... We never let our hug go and I can feel his breath on my neck. This is the longest time we've ever been in a hug. I close my eyes and let all my feelings for Lucas come out. Our lips touch slowly then fiercly. He grabs my waist and pulls me closer. I love the rush that I get when I'm close to him. I place my hand on his muscular chest and I can feel his heartbeat. We kiss for a while then he stops and looks at me. Our eyes meet and I smile.

- "I love you Emily Shire."

- "I love you too Lucas."

This is all I've ever wanted. This right here, for me and Lucas to be one. I really do love him. And I'm glad that this the last memory I have of him before the choosing ceremony.
