Jeongyeon woke up, sweating all over while catching her breath. She looked around and realized that she was at her penthouse.
It was just a dream, Jeong. Just a dream.
She was alone, since Momo had to leave Seoul for a film project for a whole month. Their vacation ended three days ago, and Momo left for Australia earlier.
Jeongyeon gets her phone beside her to call Momo. She waited for her to pick up until she did.
"Hey, baby. It's 2AM there. What's up?"
"Hi, Momo. I just wanted to call. I miss you already."
"Jeong, it hasn't been a day. But I do miss you too."
"Please come home now."
"Baby, we just got here."
"Can't I just go there and act like I'm one of the producers, or even your personal assistant?"
"Jeong you know you can't, and also, you have your own business to take care of. They need your guidance."
"Fine, please be back soon."
"One month is short, baby. I'll be back before you know it."
"Okay. Bye, babe. I love you."
"Bye bye, my Jeong. I love you most."
Jeongyeon hung up. Tears started to escape her eyes. She didn't want that to happen, not again. She's been too traumatized with it Soojin to the point that she is getting these kind of dreams.
-
A whole week had passed and Jeongyeon kept on having the same dream over and over again.
Everytime she wakes up from it, her eyes were full of fear and agony, and gets scared by anything. Jeongyeon was not only dreaming about Sana and Momo, but also Soojin.
She didn't want to talk about with Momo since she's not around, and she didn't want to distract her from work. She's not at the shop either, so she can't distract herself from it.
Her and Chaeyoung doesn't go to the shop that often anymore, since they promoted staffs whom they trust to be the manager of the Seoul branch. Meaning, her and Chaeng have less chances to see each other.
I need Chae. Now.
She called her, hoping that she would pick up even if its already 2AM.
Surprisingly, someone answered.
"Chae, I need you here, now. Please."
"Hey, hyung, is there an emergency?"
"Yes, there's an emergency. Can you go here at my penthouse as soon as you can?"
"Sure, unnie. Just wait a bit longer."
"Also, please bring sleeping pills."
"Sleeping pills??? Unnie, are you okay?"
"Chaeyoung, please. Just go here."
"Okay, unnie. please hang in there."
After the call, Jeongyeon sat at the corner, formimg herself to a ball, rocking herself to calm down.
Come on, Yoo. She won't do that. She's different from Soojin.
Flashbacks from her dream haunts her, it made her more stressed and she couldn't help but to cry.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Minutes later Chaeyoung arrived, she saw Jeongyeon trembling on the corner. She ran to her and tried to calm her down. Jeongyeon was shaking so bad.
"Jesus, hyung, what happened?" Jeongyeon slowly looked up to see Chaeyoung, whom she hugged. "Chae." It was the only word she could say. It's the first time Chaeyoung saw this happened to her. Her unnie was always strong, and now she's here. Not knowing what she's so afraid of.
"Unnie, what's wrong." She sat there, waiting for Jeongyeon to open up.
"S-soojin... c-cheated... on me.... M-momo.... I-i'm scared..." Her voice trembled.
Trauma.
"Hyung, calm down, okay? I'll get you medicine. Wait here, I'll be back right away." Chaeyoung needed to leave her, to get her the right medicine. Her father used to be a psychiatrist, but then her father left and she didn't know where did he go. He was the reason why she knows about mental health, but only little.
She went back right after she failed to buy antidepressants for she doesn't have a proper prescription. She went to her bedroom but Jeongyeon wasn't there anymore.
Chaeyoung heard a plate breaking on the kitchen.
Hyung.
She ran to the kitchen and saw broken glasses and plates on the floor.
"Jeongyeon!" Chaeyoung stopped her before she could break another plate. "Unnie, let's sit on the sofa. Sounds good?" Her voice so persuasive. Jeongyeon nodded and she led her to the sofa. After letting her sit, Chae went back to the kitchen and gets a glass of water, to help Jeongyeon calm down.
They sat there and looked at the city lights for an hour. It helped her to calm her nerves down, enough for her to talk.
"I'm worthless. I'm not enough." she murmured, but loud enough for Chaeyoung to hear it. She looked at the latter, who had her legs on the sofa. "What are you saying, hyung? You're more than enough." Jeongyeon's eyes went teary again. "If I was enough, why would Soojin go back to her ex." Chaeyoung shook her head. "There's always a reason, hyung. That Soojin left you because someone better is coming, and that better is Momo unnie." Jeongyeon stared at the window. "I'm not good for Momo, either. I can't protect her. I'm weak."
"Unnie, are you even listening to yourself? You're strong. You wouldn't be here if you aren't."
"But I'm still not enough for Momo."
"Of course you are! She wouldn't have picked you if you're not."
"What if she cheats, Chae? What if she goes back to Sana like Soojin did?"
"She won't, Jeong. She loves you so much. Momo unnie picked you over Sana."
"Momo loved Sana first."
"And now Momo unnie loves you. Please, unnie. Trust Momo unnie. That she wouldn't cheat."
"I do trust her, Chaeng. It's just that I don't trust myself."Chaeyoung didn't know what to say. Instead, she sat there and just be there for Jeongyeon, like she always does.
"Unnie, why don't you try to have a check up tomorrow?" Jeongyeon shook her head. "I'm fine, Chae." Chaeyoung hisses, "From what I see now, I think not. Hyung. I'll go with you tomorrow, unnie." She shook her head again. "I can manage this, Chaeyoung." The younger got pissed off on how Jeongyeon is so stubborn. "No unnie, we will have you checked tomorrow, whether you like it or not."
Jeongyeon sighed in defeat. She can't do anything about it now. "I have one condition." She said, "What?"
"Don't tell Momo about this."
