Spencer kissed Toby goodbye instead of Alex.
She could feel everything. The blood oozing from the gaping hole in her shoulder, her body growing weaker with every passing second. She felt Mary gently lift her head off her lap and lay it on the ground and the quick kiss that was planted on her forehead. She heard the girls screams and cries for help and for her to wake up. She was trying but she just couldn't.
She was tired, so, so tired. She heard sirens blaring in the distance but they started to fade until she could only hear one thing. Her name.
"Spencer."
It was pitch black all around her and all she could hear was her name being yelled again and again, over and over.
"Spencer! Spencer! Spencer!"
Spencer placed her hands over her ears in an attempt to stop and block out whatever was yelling her name, but the yelling just got louder.
"Spencer! Spencer! Spencer!"
She screamed and screamed in a desperate attempt to block out the noise all around her. There was so much noise.
"Spencer! Spencer!"

"Spencer? Spencer, can you hear me?"
Spencer tried to speak but her mouth was like sandpaper. She suddenly felt someone pry her eyelids open. Everything turned a bright blinding white as a light was shone in each of her eyes. She gasped and tried to wriggle out of their grasp on her but they just held her down. She felt the needle pierce her skin and cried out as the world slipped into darkness once again.
The next time she awoke, it was much easier. Her eyes slid open with ease as she tried to take in her surroundings. It all swirled around of her, making her feel sick and dizzy. She heard footsteps and weakly tried to turn her head.
"Oh my god Spencer."
Before Spencer had a chance to react, a pair of small arms wrapped around her. Aria.
"We-I thought you were dead." Aria sobbed. "They were going to take you off the life-support but then they said you'd woken up but you were sedated. Oh my god Spencer, we thought you were gonna die. I was so scared for you."
"I-I'm okay Aria, I'm just really tired." Spencer coughed slightly at the hoarse quality to her voice. "Are Hanna, Emily and Alison okay?"
Aria pulled herself out of the embrace and handed her a cup of water then sniffed. "They're fine, just really worried about you. A lot happened while you were out."
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked, taking a sip of the water.
"You've been unconscious for about a week now." Aria sighed then gestured towards an entire table filled with flowers near Spencer's bed. "You got a lot of admirers Spence."
"Who are they all from?" She mumbled.
Aria pulled at some of the tags. "Me, Hanna and Caleb, Emily, Alison and Marco... hey isn't he that cute cop?"
Spencer chuckled. "Yeah, yeah he is."
"Ooh." Aria scooted closer to Spencer. "I want details."
"It's nothing Ar." She groaned. "We just had dinner once that was it."
"Are you sure?" Her small friend persisted.
"Yes." She nodded. "So Hanna and Caleb are back together?"
"I know right?" Aria scoffed. "Not even 2 days after you were shot, they decided to announce that they were back together. Pathetic right?"
Spencer didn't reply, not really sure what to say.
"Aria, what did happen while I was out?"
"There's a gameboard now, in the barn. Emily found, somehow. I don't know why she was in the barn in the first place either. Alison's pregnant too. With Emily's baby."
"What? How did that happen?"
"How do you think? A.D."
"Poor Ali." Spencer mumbled, as her eyelids started to droop shut. "I'm tired Ar, can I sleep now?"
Aria rolled her eyes and jumped off the bed. "Fine, I'll go now but you can't fall asleep, promise?"
"Okay." Spencer's voice was almost inaudible since her eyes on the brink of shutting.
She could hear Aria talking to someone outside, a guy she assumed. Maybe Marco? Spencer heard footsteps coming towards her and slowly opened her eyes, trying to piece together who it was. He was tall...ish, blonde hair and those eyes. Those blue eyes she could never forget. Toby. He knelt down next to her so he was eye level with her. He smiled at her but his eyes, were glossed over with tears.
"W-What's wrong?" She managed to get out, before catching sight of the stiches in his head. "What happened to your head?"
He smiled at her again. "I'm supposed to be asking you that. You're the one who got shot."
"And you're the one with stiches." She remarked.
He rolled his eyes at her. "Me and Yvonne got in a car accident."
Her eyes grew wide. "W-What? I-Is she okay?"
Toby looked away and there was an uncomfortable silence for a few moments before Spencer broke it.
"Yvonne, did she... survive?"
Toby nodded. "Yeah, she's fine. And being taken to Rosewood Jail as we speak."
Spencer gasped. "What? why?"
A smile spread across Toby's face. "I may have reconsidered staying in Rosewood after you came and saw me. I realized that me and Yvonne just weren't made for each other. I planned on taking her to Maine then driving back but then she found our scrabble board, the one you gave me on our first anniversary, and she got really pissed. I ended up telling her that I wanted to stay in Rosewood and about our kiss at the house and she grabbed the wheel and we hit a tree. She's getting charged for attempted vehicular manslaughter so she'll be in jail for a while."
"Wow." She squeaked. "I really did miss alot while I was out. I'm-I'm just glad you're okay though."
He smiled again, running his fingers through her hair. "I'm just glad you're okay too."
She shuffled herself upwards into a sitting position and wrapped her arms around Toby's shoulders. He nuzzled his head into the crook of her neck.
She'd missed this.
Just found this random one shot I made ages ago and though I'd post in my small amount of free time. Enjoy!
