The rest of the week flew by, next thing I knew it was Friday. Danny had been talking to me all week, non-stop. He even started sitting next me during lunch! Silver had been teasing about it non-stop too. Nethanial just got very pissy whenever Danny would show up, but he was the only one. Everyone else had accepted him and made him part of our group. Even Ben had tagged along. The other three of Danny’s friends were hesitant, not really hanging out with us much.
It was last class period, gym, Danny was also in this class. But so was all his friends. When his friends are in his class with him, he ignores me.
“Alright class, I’m dismissing you half a hour before school is out. I know how hard it is to get out with all that damn traffic. Have fun kids!”
I smiled to myself. That’s why I walk. I was on my way out when suddenly I felt someone’s arm go around my waist.
“So.. Are you coming?” Danny’s voice filled my ear. I let him do these kinds of things because it made the ‘pretty popular scene girls’ purple with rage. Also, I kinda enjoyed it. It made me feel like he was honestly trying.
“Yeah,” I said. Our hands intertwined and he walked me to the door of the girls locker room.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you out here?” he said.
“Sure, go change of course” I said
“Duh” he said. He let go of my hand and stood there, a bit hesitant.
I was about to walk away when he quickly gave me a peck on the cheek.
“Alright, see you in a sec” he said, he walked away with his hands in his pockets and looking down.
I gave him a awkward smile and a stupid little wave. I felt my face burning hot. He did not just kiss me! Quickly, I rushed into the girls locker room. One of the ‘pretty girls’ was standing there, mouth slightly open, outraged look on her face. I gave her a smirk then went off to change. The whole time, whispers of them were there the whole time. Quickly, I changed and went to the mirror. I got out my make-up and was trying to hurry. I didn’t want to keep Danny waiting. I was just about done when I heard someone clear their throat to the side of me.
“He’s only using you.” I heard a voice.
I turned. Three girls stood before me.
“Um I’m sorry..” I said
“Sam” the girl in the center, with the long blond hair said.
“Okay, thanks. I’m sorry Sam, but what are you talking about?” I asked
“Danny. He’s only using you” she repeated.
“Um.. How do you know?”
“He used me. Told me all the things I wanted to hear, I let him get into my bedroom, then its like I never existed. He went on, like nothing ever happened.” she said.
“um.” I said
“Same with Jess.” She signaled to the girl to her right, “And Laura” the girl to her left nodded.
“I think your all just jealous” I said, “because he actually likes me, and he just used you.” I snapped
They all looked at each other then burst out laughing.
“Sure. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.” Sam said. They started leaving and I hid behind the corner. I watched them leave, Danny was standing there. As they passed by, Sam gave him a dirty look and Danny make a kiss motion. Sam stopped, grabbed him by the coller and pushed him against the wall.
