A/N Little late but uncensored cursing not appropriate for anyone younger than 15, also Myne's theme song is You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi and Naofumi's is Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. And no I am not extremely old yet. Also my personal character from Devil Within, Jon is going to take Naofumi's place but has watched up to ep 13 of the series. Also Naofumi's song could also be Soldier by Citizen Soldier.
Jonasan POV
As the light dims I see a dark room that has what looks like mages I, unfortunately, recognize the room.
"Shit." I mudder. As they escort us up to where I can only assume is the throne room.
"Welcome Heros!" Exclaims the king as we walk in, I look at the others next to me to recognize them from the anime.
"Okay, Kingy, sorry to interrupt but," I interrupt as one of the others tries to stop me, "I have a question. WHERE IN THE GODDAMN HELL ARE WE!!!!!"
"Well hero," He says looking at me with poorly disguised disgust and for the first time I realize I have a shield attached to my arm and the others have a bow, sword, and spear respectively, "this is the kingdom of Melromarc where you will be fighting the Waves of Catastrophe."
"Oh, great this is going to be like the goddamn anime!!!!" I exclaim, the other cardinal heros just look at me with an "what the actual fuck!!" look on, but I didn't care.
"I don't know what you are talking about, but I suggest you watch your tone!" The King snaps.
"Fine," I say, "Not like I wanted to be here, you jackasses summoned me." I mutter under my breathe, the king doesn't hear. We are then dismissed for the night.
~Timeskip to room~
"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!!!!" Yelled Motoyasu, Ren, and Kizuna at me.
"What?" I ask with a confused Natsu look.
"Talking to the Kin like that is the absolute DUMBEST thing I have ever seen someone do!!" Ren exclaims.
"Well sorry for being myself." I say flippantly, "Im hittin the hay." I say as I walk over to the corner.
"Hey genius!!" Yelled Motoyasu, "The beds are over there." Points to the beds.
"I know." I say, "Im just more comfortable on the floor."
"Weirdo." Muttered Motoyasu.
"Heard that!" I yell at him as I turn over facing the wall with my back to them.
~Timeskip~
When I woke up, I stretched and heard my bones and heard my joints cracking.
"Well, morning sleeping beauty." Taunts Motoyasu.
"Sorry man, I don't swing that way. But if you do by all means be who you are." I shoot back. He looks at me with anger before we are summoned to the throne room again. When we get there I notice the people lined against the wall.
"Good morning heroes!" Exclaims the King, "Today you shall be receiving your funds and party members." Everyone of the party members picked by the king line up like from the anime.
"Hmm." Hummed the King thought fully(A/N That's a first huh?), "It seems that no one picked the shield."
"That's fine, I've got everything I need." I tell them, not making the same mistake as Naofumi. Everyone there, including kingy, look at me with surprise.
"Are you sure?" He asks with, is that respect I hear? INCONCEIVABLE!!!!
"Yes I am sure." I say bluntly.
"I would be happy to switch to the shield heroes party!" **** said. I recognize the voice and try not to groan. DAMN YOU FATES!!!!
"No its fine." I respectfully refuse.
"If the hero decides to assemble his party alone, he is entitled to that choice." The king says.
"Thank you, Mi' lord," I grit out, the words like acid apon my tongue. It's obvious the other heroes and everyone there is shocked, but I dont give a flying mynock about it. We are dismissed and I walk out to the grasslands on the outside of the city. I attack the balloons, stabbing the triangular point at the bottom of my shield into the monster slaying it. **** and the other heroes just stared shocked at me.
"What?" I ask smiling like an innocent child.
"Y-you, just..." Motoyasu stutters pointing between the carcass and me.
"Yaaaaa?" I ask.
"HOW??!!!" He asked. I tap the point on my shield. I then turn and continue to attack the monsters.
~Timeskip 5 hours~
I had gone up to lvl 5 when I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turn and see ****. I struggle not to sock her into tarteros.
"Are you sure you don't want me in your party?" She asks, I struggle to be civil.
"Sorry princess but I'm fine on my own." I grit out, after I finish saying that I realize how badly I just fucked up. "Shit!" I mutter to myself. **** looks surprised for a second but quickly recomposes herself.
"Oh please, I'm no princess especially not the great and bevelont princess Malty Melromarc." She said, I strain not to roll my eyes at this statement.
"Again, thank you for the invitation but Im fine." I tell her.
"Well if you ever change your mind Shield Hero, my names Myne." She says.
'Pfft, fat chance of that happenin female pup.' I think to myself, but say, "Again, thank you for the invitation but I have to go find a good place to set up camp for the night." Not wanting to stay in the same hotel as her.
"Wait, you mean out in the forest?" She asks. I nod, before turning around and just walking off. She doesn't follow. FINALLY THE FATES GIVE ME SOME LUCK!!!!!
