The same evening they went to discuss their plan of action. "So, there is obviously a lot of energy coming of the pyramid. This means that the Nifei are probably in there. How are we going to do this?" Zalika started. "Well, which gods do we have on our side?" Nena asked. "Well, Anubis and Nephthys are definitely on our side. I hope a lot of them to be honest." Zalika said. "Otherwise we don't stand a chance against whatever the pyramid has to offer." "Still, we need to be careful. There might be spell in the pyramid that might try to kill us." Nena said. "Yeah, but would there be spells to protect Djoser and help him get to Osiris. You need to be very powerful to overwrite those spells in your favor." Zalika said. "I know. But we can't rule out the possibility. If Amethyst could bind the Nifei in the sarrafoglu and they haven't broken out yet, that should be a giveaway that Amethyst is pretty powerful." Nena said. "You have a point." Zalika said. "Well, let's sleep for now. We need all our strength if we want to penetrate the pyramid and live." Nena said. "But shouldn't we first get as close as possible to see how it looks like? Then we have a better idea on what we're up against." Zalika suggested. "We still have some time left until it gets dark." "Fine. If we get killed it's your fault." Nena said. After 10 minutes of walking, the pyramid came in full view. The pyramid was a step pyramid. There was magic radiating from the pyramid. "The pyramid is old." Nena said. "Of course it's old. Thank you for stating the obvious, again." Zalika said. "The magic is strong here." Nena muttered. "I know Nena. There is magic because Djoser is in there, on top of that there is Amethysts magic. Over time it must have grown stronger and merged with the pyramid." Zalika deduced. "So, you're saying that the pyramid has magic on its own." Nena said. "Yes." Zalika confirmed. "This day is getting better and better." Nena muttered. Then they saw a patrol waking around the pyramid. "There are patrols. This is going to be hard." Nena asked. "You would think that the pyramid would be secured better." Zalika said. "That's what I thought. What if they are expecting us?" Nena asked. "I don't know. We have to try." Zalika said. "I don't like this at all." Nena said. "Why would you? Those are Apep's minions. They would probably want to take you hostage, and make sure that the balance is tipped." Zalika said. "In other words, they want to make our lives hell." "We can do this. We've survived until now. We can survive this as well. We have gods on our sides." Nena said reassuringly. "Here's the but. There are also gods who really want us in the Underworld. Preferably in Amit's belly" Zalika said. "When it's my time, I definitely don't want to be eaten up." Nena agreed. "So, we need to make sure that they don't notice us." Zalika said. "I know how to do that effectively. Get the hell out of here." Nena said. "I think that's highly effective." Zalika said. "How about we put that plan in motion?"
Back at the camping site they started to discuss their plan of action. "So, we need to make sure the demons don't see us when we enter." Nena said. "Then we need to navigate the maze which is the pyramid, free the Nifei and get out of there." Zalika said. "Sounds good to me." Nena said. "Be careful though. As you suggested, they are expecting the pair of you." a voice said. Nena and Zalika turned around to see Nethys. "You should know that I'm proud of you two. You have survived quite a bit in a few days." she said smilingly. "No offence, but why are you visiting us?" Nena asked. "Well, to give some advice." Nephthys said. "You have quite a few gods on your side. For example, we have Horus who will take care of the patrols." "That is perfect." Zalika said. "That means that we can sneak in undetected." "That is the plan." Nephthys said. "Anyway, Isis will also help out. I have the suspicion that she might be the one you're hosting Nena." "Really?" Nena asked. "Would explain the magic burst when the demons cornered us." Zalika remarked. "So she would help us free the Nifei." Nena said. "Yes, she will. Anubis will also help wherever he can." Nephthys said. "One last thing. Go to sleep. You need all the sleep you can get." Nephthys said. "Thank you." Nena said. "Good night girls" Nephthys said smilingly and disappeared. A few moments later both Nena and Zalika fell in a deep sleep.
Early next morning Nena and Zalika woke up to a sunrise. "It's beautiful." Nena said. "Well, it's the last one we'll see for a while." Zalika said. "We need to get packing," Nena said and walked towards their stuff. "About that, do you know where this staff came from?" Zalika asked, holding up the staff. "No clue. Why would I know in the first place?" Nena asked. "Well, I don't know if we should trust it. Who knows how it got there?" Zalika said sceqpically. "But it also can help us win this battle." Nena countered. "I know it can. It could be Apep's though." Zalika said. "Let's not be some conspiracy theorists. I'm going in that pyramid with that thing, whether you like it or not." Nena said confidentially. "And I'm leaving right now, so if you want to go me then get up." Nena grabbed her stuff and turned around, heading for thy pyramid. "Normally it's me who is bossing her around." Zalika muttered and quickly ran after Nena.
