-Unknown Days Later-
Everything was in such a blur I do not really remember what had happened, all I could remember was the panicked jumbled up words of the girl I saved crying for help. When I woke from a dream-like unconsciousness, I saw that I was lying in a hospital bed.
"Why I am in the hospital?!? Who brought me here?!? I need answers I nee-"
I tried to sit up on the bed only to have a surge of pain from my head, knock me out again. When I woke up again there was a doctor who came to check on me.
"I see you have woken up. Take it easy you are in good hands. I am Dr. Resme." she assured me and introduced herself.
"You had quite the panic attack there Mr. Fernandez, but you seem to be fine now, I'll call in a nurse to bring you breakfast." She said pushing the button to call up my breakfast (no not the nurse actual consumable food).
"What do you want for breakfast? Would you like something edible or the shitty food in the hospital?" She asked in a tone that sounded like an insults and honey had a child together.
"I would like to have 2 helpings of greek omelets with 3 hash browns, a jug of orange juice, and a nice portion of bacon." I replied.
Doctor Resme looked at me with the traditional for-a guy-in-the-emergency-room-you-have-a-big-appetite stare To my surprise she rang the whole thing up and summoned the nurse.
-20 minutes later-
The nurse, which his name turns out to be Fabio comes in with my cartload of food. His hair was a faded blood red color and his build was nothing to scoff at, and his uniform hinted at a once famous fashion designer who, though many's disbelief wound up to be a fashion failure. His very essence brought forth a fiery passion for his fellow brothers but his masculine build hinted nothing of his personality. As he delivered my tray he had a certain prance in his walk and his definitely stylish female nurse outfit.
"Here you go hun, a meal fit for a big hero like yourself." Nurse Fabio flattered me.
"Me a hero? How Fabio?" I asked him ... um her?
"How?! You are huge! Taking on two brutes like that without even breaking a sweat, according to a lovely lady who called for help, you apparently prevented her from getting molested by football players." Fabio said as she gently placed the tray with plastic utensils on my lap with my bed inclined, so I don't pass out again.
Fabio almost jumped as I quickly took the knife and fork and made short work of the first omelet and hash-brown. I didn't care if it was still piping hot. I was HUNGRY! Next I quickly unscrewed the cap of several orange juice bottles and drained every last drop, moving on to the bacon. By the time I was done there was about two pieces of bacon out of fifteen, one and one half hash-browns, one bottle of orange juice out of ten, and a fork-full of the last omelet.
"Damn. Did YOU eat a lot," commented Dr. Resme.
Before I could say anything Dr. Resme finally told me something that I could care about more than food and surviving in this lonely room.
"You have a visitor ... a Miss Christine Ramirez , tidy up Mr. Fernandez this girl looks rather impatient to see you. As a matter of fact she refused to leave until she saw you in a stable condition. No worries you just had a huge bruise on your thick noggin. Which should heal up soon, explaining the pain you are in, but the adrenaline wearing off was what made you pass out..."
The rest of Doctor Resme's words were ignored as I had her assist me in getting dressed for my first visitor. It hurt that my family didn't bother to show up for me. I was dressed in a Nirvana T-Shirt that I had gotten for Christmas last year and matching black jeans, then in came for a lack of a better word damn. It was the girl I saved! Christine ... what a gorgeous name... Then it dawned on me. Christine Ramirez... it couldn't be the very Christine that I had dreamt of. It cannot be the same silky, long, flowing hair. The same beautiful girl with an extravagant voice, and even more wondrous personality. This girl would teach me how to love, after so much hatred I experience and above all else loves me for who I am. She was wearing a beautiful long scarlet dress clearly out-dressing me, while Doctor and Nurse walk out of the room.
" H-h-ello. M-my name is A-a-nthony and I..." I tried to speak but I was so nervous that I was trembling inside.
Her white smile was enough to send blood to my cheeks. Though I could have sworn she was blushing too.
Her smile is so beautiful... I thought to myself as I started to speak again.
" Sorry for all the trouble, I mean those idiots were trying to hurt you and nobody was intervening... so I knew I had to help sorry for worrying you." I said worrying that I had somehow inconvenienced her.
In response she said no words. All she did was walk towards my hospital bed and gives me a crumbled piece of paper. Tattered by age and by the constant movement the paper has undergone since it was first written. Upon receiving this small piece of paper I un-crumbled it to reveal a lettter.
