"There was once a beautiful palace within a magical kingdom on the moon. The palace was made of brilliant crystals; the most beautiful palace ever built. Everywhere you went, the air sparkled from the crystals. Inside the palace, lived the king and queen. They had a beautiful daughter; the beloved Moon Princess. Everyone adored the little princess. She was so beautiful and kind to everyone. She had a very pretty voice and people would listen to her sing about the stars. As the princess grew up she became more and more beautiful and wanted to fall in love, but none of the suitors her parents brought were the right ones. One night she climbed the tallest mountain on the moon. She sang to the stars, asking for her true love to appear. The stars indeed heard the princess' songs, but also did someone else. The lonely prince of the sun heard the princess' voice and instantly fell in love. He sent many letters to the stars but she never received them, and in turn he never received any responses. He decided he would travel to the moon kingdom to meet her. He sent word to the king and queen of the moon kingdom, and they were overjoyed that a prince would come to meet their daughter. The princess became so happy, thanking the stars for sending her a prince.

When the Sun Prince arrived, the kingdom held a magnificent ball. All day, the princess and her ladies prepared. She put on a gown made from golden star dust, and shoes made from the rarest crystals in the kingdom. No one could have thought a girl could look this beautiful. When the prince arrived everybody celebrated. The king and queen met him and greeted him warmly. He patiently waited for the princess with a bouquet of special flowers from his kingdom. When she entered the ballroom everyone became silent because of her beauty. The prince fell even deeper in love with her. She was also happy, seeing the handsome prince. But during their first dance, something odd happened. The princess heard a voice. The voice told her that it was an angel from the stars. It told her that they heard her songs and were going to send her true love. The voice warned her that this prince was not the one they were sending for her. She suddenly became alarmed and told the Sun Prince that she was feeling ill and needed to return to her room. The prince asked if he could go with her, to care for her. She declined and ran away.

She ran far into the mountains to where she had called upon the angels. When she reached the top of the tallest mountain she came upon the most beautiful man. He laid upon a bed of soft star dust. When she approached him she could not hear him breathing. She could not feel a heartbeat. He had died waiting for her. She cried and cried. Her tears soaked into his skin, but nothing happened. She sat next to the beautiful man's body for the entire night. When morning came, she knew she had to return home. She gave the beautiful man a sweet kiss on his lips and then ran back to her palace.

When she returned everyone ran to her; worried that something bad had happened. The princess told her parents about the beautiful man she found on the mountain, but they would not believe her. The princess fled her kingdom to find the elder sages of the celestial world. She learned that the beautiful golden haired boy she found was actually the Prince of the Stars. The princess embarked on a journey trying to find a way to save the Prince of the Stars; she was never seen again. No one ever found the body of the Prince of the Stars either. The Sun Prince grew jealous and had his kingdom attack the two others. During the war the Sun Prince, the third royal child of the celestial realm, disappeared. The three kingdoms were eventually abandoned; their people fled to another world. Our world. Some say that celestial people or their descendants still live among us today. The story is not over, however, as the three royal children have not yet been found." The book closed.
