"Where's Arthur?" Sam asks Merlin as he walks to the table and sits down across from his new friend and research buddy. Merlin and Arthur have been at the Bunker for nearly two months now, and they'd gotten into somewhat of a routine, usually starting with early morning training sessions together.

Merlin doesn't look up from the book he's studying, "Out training."

"Huh."

Merlin looks up with slight confusion, "What?"

Sam shrugs, smiling, "Nothing, it's just I'm surprised you aren't out there with him."

"Why would I need to be out there with him? He's perfectly capable of looking after himself," Merlin retorts.

Sam cocks his eyebrow at Merlin while his smile grows. Merlin shakes his head, looking down at his book in hopes of hiding his grin.

"What about Dean? Where is he?" Merlin realizes it's almost nine in the morning, usually Dean arises at six thirty, half an hour before Sam.

"Oh, uh, he and Cas are probably gonna take today pretty relaxed," Sam explains. "It's the anniversary of their first meeting. They usually stay in their room most of the day, with the exception of bathroom breaks and food."

"I'm happy for them," Merlin smiles. "And that's good, they both need a break from all this, even if it is for just one day."

"Yeah I agree," Sam rolls up his shirtsleeves. "Anything I can help you with?"

"Possibly, yes. I was reading the newspaper this morning that described a death caused by something similar to what sounds like what Uther had become," Merlin shoves the paper towards Sam so he can read the circled article. "I've been trying to find information on the Horn, but I haven't been able to find anything."

"Merlin, this is a simple ghost," Sam explains. "Ghosts are created when a soul has unfinished business on earth."

"It's really that simple for a ghost to walk the earth now days?" Merlin asks shocked.

"For all I know, it's always been that simple. What did you mean about that horn?" Sam asks curiously.

Merlin sighs, "Arthur was new at being King, so when the chance arose to see his father again, to seek advice, he took it. We journeyed to a place that had giant stones in a circle, he blew the Horn and entered the Veil. When he was finished, he released Uther's spirit when he looked back. Uther was pale and could move fast, he could control things, he could even move through objects. Uther started trying to destroy the kingdom and the peace that his son had created."

"So the Horn brought the spirit back from the other side?" Sam asks. "It didn't matter if it came from Heaven or Hell?"

"Guess not," Merlin says.

Sam retrieves his laptop from its charging place by the wall and opens it. He searched for other stories in the area with similar cases and also makes a search for a horn matching the description. Sam can't find anything on the Horn, and decides to do an extensive search later, but when he finds five matching the description of a death by spirit, he broadens the search to the entire state.

"Woah," Sam leans back in his chair. "I've found articles from all over the state similar to this. Ghosts are popping up all over the place."

"That's not good," Merlin says concerned.

"Come on, I want to try something," Sam says to Merlin as he gets up.

Merlin follows Sam to the room with the giant box with buttons on it.
