I lean against the railing, staring at the probation worker unamused. I know I deserve this but community service isn't...what I imagined that I would be doing...

"This is it. This is your chance to do something positive. Give something back. You can help people." The probation worker begins to say.

I look around at the strangers around me. For fucksake, I really don't wanna be here. This is the weirdest group of people that I've ever been apart of....I look back at the probation worker.

"You can really make a difference in people's lives. That's what community service is all about." We all stare at him blankly. I don't know what he expects, us to bow at every word he says? "You know, people think you're scum. You have an opportunity to show them they're wrong."

Out of no where, the curly head boy says "yeah, but what if they're right?" I noticed his accent was irish, different from mine and the probation worker's. We all move our gaze to him. "No offense..." he looks over to the guy in the snapback, "but I think some people are just born criminals."

"You lookin' to get stabbed?" The snapback says. I smirk at his 'threat'. Very unintimidating.

"You see my point?" The curly head looks back at the probation worker. I hold in my laughter. I definitely wasn't born a criminal, but he has a point with that hat guy.

Suddenly, a phone rings. I look around curiously. The light almond skinned girl reaches in her pocket eagerly and pulls out her cellphone. "Hey" she answers, twirling her curls between her fingers.

"Doesn't matter what you've done in the past.." The probation officer starts again.

"Doing my community service.." The almond skinned girl continues to talk on the phone as if the probation worker wasn't there. I snicker, staring at her.

He eyes her. "Hey."

"Boring as fuck.." She ignores him.

"Excuse me. I'm still talking here." The probation worker looks at her, obviously annoyed.

"What? I've thought you finished." She looks at him, pulling the phone away from her ear, shrugging.

"You see my lips moving, that means I'm still talking." He says.

"Yeah, well, you could've been yawning....or chewing...." The curly head boy chimes in.

".....Or coughing." I add in. The curly haired guy and the almond skinned girl look at me, smiling and holding in a laugh.

"End the call." The probation worker demands. "Hang up!" He shouts. Not gonna lie, when he raised his voice, I flinched. I always hated loud noises.

"My probation worker..." The almond skinned girl continues to talk on her phone.

"You alright there, weird kid?" The curly haired guy points to a rather skinny and pale-looking fellow. He looked really nervous and definitely had those shifty-eyes.

He looks like he's either hiding a dead body in his backyard or he's just incredibly shy and an underrated cool guy. Either way, he's very interesting and somewhat intriguing.

The almond skinned girl continued to talk on her phone, "don't be disgusting!" She sighs. "I'll call you later."

I eye the curly haired boy blowing a kiss to the snapback guy. "I'll rip out your throat and shit down your neck."

The tall chocolate skinned male rolled his eyes. "I shouldn't be here, man." He looked super familiar but I can't remember from where...

The curly haired boy and the snapback begin to pick at eachother. The snapback grabs curly haired boy's orange jumpsuit threateningly.

"Hey!" The probation worker shouts.

"Can I move to a different group? This isn't gonna work for me." The tall guy said, clearly covered in disgust and guilt. Whatever he did, he obviously feels regret about it.

"Um...What makes you think you're better than us?" The blonde, ponytailed girl chimed in the conversation. Her accent was extremely strong.

"What is that?" The curly haired boy turns around.

"Is that for real?" The tall guy snickers.

"If you're trying to say something, then yeah." She snaps back. I hold my hands up in defense.

"Your voice is extremely...." I don't finish my sentence. I notice she's waiting for me to, though. "Lovely." I save myself.

"Is that- Are you-" The curly haired boy put his hand around his ear. "That's just a noise! Are we suppose to be able to understand her?"

The ponytail rolled her eyes. "Do you understand that?" She holds up her middle finger as she looks away from us.

I can't help but let out a laugh. The curly haired boy grabbed snapback. "I think she likes me."
Snapback, obviously, didn't like that, seeing as he begins to grab him.

Everyone begins to hold in a laugh but fails. "Hey!" The probation worker runs over, breaking the two up.

I might not necessarily like community service...But it sure as hell is gonna be somewhat entertaining...
