"Someone knows..." Curtis blurts out. I close my locker and turn around in confusion. "They know we've killed our probation worker."

"Is this you?" Kelly turns to Nathan. Nathan turns around, confused and almost offended.

He scoffs. "If I was trying to wind you up, I'd be a little more creative. I know what film you saw last summer.."

"This isn't funny." Kelly snaps.

"If I wanted to freak you out, I would've dug up the body and stuck that in your locker!" Nathan points to Curtis's locker. Curtis looks at him, trying to understand what he just said.

Simon chimes in, "if it wasn't him, who was it?"

"Well, we've all done stuff. They could talk about anything." Nathan shrugs.

"True, we're all here for a reason. Maybe they're talking about that." I lean against my locker.

Alisha looks over at Curtis, "It was in your locker.."

Curtis looks at us in disbelief. "This was meant for all of us." He takes a breath. "They're talking about our probation worker."

"Okay, okay.. Lets just say you're right. If they actually knew anything, they wouldn't be dicking around and sticking notes on lockers." Nathan rolls his eyes. He's got a massive good point. "They would've gone to the police and we'd all be in prison and getting gang raped in the showers. But this... this means that they don't have any evidence. No proof. Nothing. And anyway, I feel like it's completely unrelated shit, that you've done." Nathan points to Curtis as he steps closer to him.
"So... if we're all done freaking out here over nothing, there's somewhere I need to be."

My eyebrows narrow. I wanna ask him 'where?' but I don't wanna seem nosy or annoying. God, what the fuck? He's probably going to the blonde bitch at the old people party thing.

Nathan gently hits Curtis's arm and walks away, leaving everyone silent. We all stand there and stare as he walks away. Curtis looks back to all of us.

"Please tell me you don't actually believe that prick." He says.

Kelly shrugs, "well whoever did it is just trying to freak us out, right? So just act normal." Curtis sighs at her response, crumbles up the note and shoves it in his locker.

Nathan holds his phone up in front of me. "It's him. It's the guy that lives with my mom. He was out there last night! This is evidence."

"I don't... Um..." I tilt my head, trying to stare at the picture. "I don't know what I'm looking at, Nathan." I face him.

Nathan stares at me in disbelief. He points to the shadows on the picture. "Cock, anus, bit of ballsack."

I look at the phone closer. I kinda see it but not really. "Why were you creeping on your mom's... whatever?"

"He's up to something! I just know it!" He throws his arms up. Nathan goes up to Simon. "Cock, anus, ballsack."

"Oh what's that?!" Simon tried not to laugh as he stares at his phone and points to something.

Nathan stares at what he's pointing at. "That's cock!!" He sighs and lets go of Simon. "Look, this guy is living with my mom! We gotta do something!"

"Like what?" Kelly asks as she puts chairs away.

Nathan thinks for a moment. I sigh as I watch him take an inhale, "Can you get me a gun?"

"A gun?! Nathan, you're not gonna kill another guy." I whisper, facing the curly headed boy.

"Exactly. Besides, I ain't getting you a gun." Kelly turns around.

Nathan protests, "You know someone. Come on, just a little one!"

Kelly laughs and shakes her head. "There's no way.. I'm getting a dick head.. Like you.. A gun."

"You can get one off the internet." Simon mumbles.

"Like dark web shit? No way! Knowing Nathan, he'll probably just get an assassin." I shake my head. Nathan turns around and faces me.

"That's not a bad idea.." He snaps his fingers, thinking.

"You're not gonna get an assassin, Nathan!!" I grab his arm. He groans and looks at me. A small smile appears on his face, but it doesn't last long when it looks like he gets an idea. His eyes light up and turns to face everyone.

"What if we go over there tonight? We talk to him, we be mature and polite, yeah? Then we just tell him to fuck off." He shrugs.

"What if he says no?" Kelly places a chair down.

Nathan stutters. Clearly, he didn't think that through. "I dunno. We'll improvise." He pauses and faces everyone again. "So who's with me?"

Everyone falls silent. We all stare at him. I feel a knot in my stomach. Should I say me? He was probably with a girl last night, so it's not like this matters. But what if it does matter?! What if he does like me like he says he does?! Well... if he was into me, his head wouldn't be turned 360 degree angle, so never mind. Gosh, why the hell am I thinking too much into this?! I look at everyone. "Me." I say.

Nathan turns to me and smiles. He lets out a cough. "Actually I- uh..." He stutters.

"What? Don't wanna have alone time with Jane?" Curtis teases as he pulls the chair Alisha's feet were on, causing her to tumble forward.

"No!" He turns to Curtis. My eyebrows narrow in confusion. His eyes widen and he turns to me. "I mean I do! I do wanna have alone time with you! But... It's just... I don't..."

"I'll tag along with you guys." Simon chimes in. "Just incase it gets awkward between you and Jane. I'll be there." He smiles at Nathan.

"Yeah, us three? A team? No way." Nathan points at us. My eyebrows furrowed. Nathan walks past us. I turn to face him in confusion.

Another old people party, how thrilling. I dance with one of the elders. I turn around and notice Nathan sitting alone. God, did he go see that guy last night? "Excuse me." I tell the old man.

"What??" He shouts.

"Excuse me!" I say closer to his ear.

"Oh.."

I step out of the crowd of elders and sit next to Nathan. "Did you talk to that guy last night?"

"What??" He turns to face me. He looks super messed up.

I lean in. "Hey, what happened last night? Are you okay?"

"Nothing!" He snaps. "Why?"

"Because-" I'm interrupted when I notice he isn't paying attention. He looks forward and sees an older lady coming close to him on a walk cane. I smile as I think of Nathan being nice and dancing with a sweet old granny.

"She wants you to dance with her!" I point to the woman walking closer to us. He stares at her in fear and regret. What the hell happened with him?! He lets out a small scream and gets up from the chair, running out of the community center. I stare at the woman's eyes get sad. What the hell, Nathan?!
