Chapter 9: Julia & My Diary.

(Leah)

"Gawd I'm so excited for carnival!" I peeped in Zach's ear. He jerked a bit since I kind of yelled. He just kept smiling though.

"Damn woman pipe down your gonna make my ear drum blow." He chuckled a bit then looked at me. "Just like you'll be doing to Luke."

"Fuck off!" I spat a fry at him and laughed a bit with him. We were currently at the food court of the mall. I asked Zach to come help me pick out what to wear tonight for carnival but he said he wouldn't come unless I gave him food. Dexter tagged along with us but I gave him a few quarters to go play in the arcade.

"So how are you and Lauren? You haven't talked about her in a while." He shrugged his shoulders and then continued to eat his burger. "Okay what'd you do?"

"How come you automatically assume I did something?" He looked at me bewildered. He raised his hands in defense as soon as I raised a brow. "Okay, well, umm..." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously so I can tell he did something completely bad. "I kind of, said another girls name in bed." He spatted out so quickly I was lucky I heard what he said.

"Now let's go shopping." He tried to change the subject getting up and throwing our trash away. I hauled him to stop as I grabbed his shoulders and turned him to face me.

"You fucking what?!" I said in disbelief. "What name did you say?!" He sat me down on the bench we were previously occupying before he got up.

"Julia." As soon as the name left his lips I was beyond angry. See Julia was the girl Josh cheated on me with. She was also with Zach when I was with Josh so she cheated on him as well.

Zach was devastated and wouldn't talk to me for so long. He wouldn't talk to anyone, until he met Lauren. She changed his life and I've been happy ever since they've gotten together. They've been together a month after the incident, so like 3-4 months.

"What'd she say?" His head hung low and his face so full of regret.

"She didn't say anything. She put on her clothes and left. But she was crying." He flinched at the memory of what happened. "Dammit Leah it's been 2 weeks and I miss her like hell. She won't return my calls or texts. She won't even fucking look at me." He shook his head before continuing. "I can't believe I fucked things up with her, she was my everything. When my father died she helped me, when I got sick she helped me, when I was injured she took care of me. And now I fucked everything up."

He loves her. He has never talked about a girl like this, not even Julia and they were together for more than 6 months. "If Lauren were here right now I bet she'd forgive you."

"But how? I fucked up so badly." He had his head in his hands and his elbows propped up on his knees.

"Show her you need her. Do something that is memorable and she wouldn't forget. Make her realize that it was a mistake and it's not going to happen again. Zach I see the way you look at her and the way you talk about her. You love her." I paused for a moment as he looked up. "So go get her."

He sighed and then got off the bench and grabbed me in a tight hug. The hug said more than words could. Saying that he loved me, and I was his little sister and even if I hated him he was gonna be there.

"I got an idea!" I shouted.

"What is it?" He said confused

"And this is why I hate shopping with you!" He said struggling with my shopping bags.

"Oh don't wine, you know it's not that bad. Just imagine if I was rich." His eyes widened in fear. I was dying laughter.

"Nope, I wouldn't come. Even if you asked me the slightest question I'd hire someone to do it for you." He said as he set all my bags in the trunk of the car.

"Oh relax. Now get in, cause we're going to get more food." We hadn't ate in a few hours. Dexter and Zach had been complaining so much that they were hungry until I grabbed a bag of Cheetos out of my purse and gave them to Dexter. Funny part is every time Zach would try to get one Dexter would slap him in the face. It was too fucking hilarious.

We started driving a bit and got close to the part of town where it was all fast food. "Dex what do you want?" I called to the back seat.

"Can we get Dairy Queen? I'm in the mood for ice cream." Zach agreed and we all headed to Dairy Queen.

After that we all headed back to my place. As soon as we pulled in the driveway I noticed that there was a few more cars then usual here. "What's going on over here?" Zach asked with the same expression face I had.

"I don't know." We all unbuckled our seat belts and grabbed the shopping bags out of my trunk. I open the door to see the house looking normal as usual. No extra people.

"Oh my goodness, Zach how have you been sweetie?" My mom gushed Zach as she rounded the kitchen corner. Zach was like her son. Zach always spent the night and never disrespected my mom. This was like his second home, literally.

"Zach! Man glad your here. Come with me outside I wanna talk to you for a minute." My dad said dragging my best friend outside. My dad was a second dad to Zach and they became a lot closet when Zach's dad died a few months ago. I was happy my dad helped him through everything.

"Mom I'm gonna go run these upstairs, just tell Zach to come up when him and dad are done talking." I smiled and grabbed my bags and headed upstairs.

When I got to my room I set the bags down on my bed and shut my door. I quickly emptied the bags and put then aside as I hung and put away clothes. I checked the clock and it said 3:49. That meant I had a good 2 hours until Luke got here. I quickly grabbed my supplies and headed for the shower.

After a good 45 minute relieving and refreshing shower I headed back in my room to find Zach reading my diary. I ran over and attempted to snatch it from him but he was too quick.

"Is this how you really feel all the time? I mean shit Leah I knew you were a little bottled up about your emotions but now like this." He looked angry, confused, upset.

"What page are you reading?" He looked down and showed me, the page read 37. "That's was when Darren..." I trailed off hoping he'd catch on. Before I knew it he embraced me into a tight hug and wouldn't let me go. After a few minutes he pulled back and looked at me with concern. "I had no idea in so sorry." He embraced me in another hug.

This felt like Darren, this felt like him hugging me again, just one more time. All the memories flooded back and I couldn't overlook them. I felt water prickling my eyes but blinked them hardly away.

"I have to get ready." I said before I emerged to my makeup area. Darren keeps coming up a lot and I don't think id be able to discuss it again. The way Mr. McCarthy discussed it was so out of line and it made me pop. I didn't tell anyone what happened with Darren, ever. They found out by my mother or my father. Other than that nobody knew except for Hali, Bailey, and Zach. Well them besides the family, that's it.
