Reagan was lying down on the grass, staring at the Narnian sky and thinking about everything that had been going on those past days. It was madly crazy and, if she had told someone else, they would have not believed her even in a million years. But she did not mind, the girl felt amazing at that land. She felt like she belonged there. That was until she felt someone by her side who interrupted her thoughts.
"Hey Ed," she saluted without even thinking at the name she had given the King, "I mean Edmund. Sorry, your majesty."
"Don't apologize, Reagan. I don't mind the nickname. And don't call me 'Your majesty', we are friends, aren't we?"
"We are?", Reagan asked fidgeting with her fingers, "I mean we are. Yes, of course. So, how's everything with Caspian and Peter?"
"They are still fighting. I just don't get it. Why can't they stand each other? I mean, we have more important issues at hand! The war has just begun and they are fighting like two babies!", he exclaimed angrily raising his hands in defeat.
"Calm down, Edmund. I am sure they will resolve their differences soon enough for the war. Do you think we are going to win?"
"Do you ever stop asking?", Edmund laughed making the girl feel bad for a moment, although he didn't mean it that way. Anyways, Reagan brushed it off, she knew the boy was upset and nervous, so she did not blame him, "I don't know. I want to think we will, but have you seen the Telmarines? They're grownups and have a huge army."
"Can I ask you one last thing?", Reagan rolled over to her side to look at the boy. Once he nodded, she proceeded, "May you tell me a story about your old times here?"
"What kind of story?"
"I don't know, whatever you want. How was it here before? Narnia, I mean", she inquired looking at the brown eyes of the boy beside her. She could have sworn they were the most beautiful shade of brown she had ever seen.
"It was astonishing. The trees danced and all the animals could talk, they had very interesting things to tell in fact. Although it wasn't always like that, you know? When we first arrived here, everything was white. A permanent winter surrounded the kingdom, it was all because of a witch. There was an enormous battle, we ended up killing her and I almost got myself killed," he told her chuckling lightly, "thank God Lucy was there with her cordial. Father Christmas gave it to her, it can cure anything with just a single drop."
It was amazing seeing how the youngest Pevensie boy talked so dearly about the place he had ruled for fifteen years. His eyes lit up like they were seeing the most precious landscape he had ever seen and, maybe, in his mind he was. For what he was saying, Reagan could not help but smile, she would have loved Narnia back there even more than at that very moment.
