The medicine cat sat with his paws tucked under his soft underbelly. His drowsiness and anxieties melting as the thyme and poppy-seeds kicked in. Badgersight touched his forehead. "Are you alright?" She asked. Branchstalk nodded, yawning. He closed his eyes.

He padded though the burnt forest, his heart pumping quicker than a rabbit's hop. Branchstalk opened his mouth to speak, but all he saw was Redsnow keeping a cat to the ground.. It was.. himself..

Branchstalk awoke with a jolt. He started to whimper sadly. Why was he getting so many visions? "Brother," Bramblepaw murmured, poking Branchstalk's ear. "What?" The medicine cat sobbed. "It'll be okay. Tigerfang told me to keep your hopes up." His brother replied. "Plus, I can see you'll be okay." Bramblepaw added, curling up beside his older brother. "Is there anything you can tell me?" Branchstalk sighed. "I'm only seeing your future through my eyes. All I know is you'll be okay." Branchstalk whimpered, wrapping his tail around Bramblepaw. His brother rubbed his cheek. "The elders need you," Tigerpaw murmured, lashing his tail.

"Okay, Lilystorm open your eyes really wide." Branchstalk meowed. The elder did as told, and Branchstalk looked into her eyes. "Follow my pupils." He replied, rolling his eyes. Lilystorm followed. "Okay, your eyes seem to be doing good." He purred gently. The elder yawned, stretching as she rolled over. "Can you check on Smalltail? He's been loosing his hearing. Especially after.." Branchstalk sighed. Greystorm and Redheart died the same day.. It was a shock to everyone. Lilystorm and Smalltail lost their two friends the same day. Now, Lilystorm was the oldest in the AlderClan, some even say the oldest in the Clans. The elder nudged Smalltail awake, and the brown tabby stretched, wincing in pain slightly. "What? Lovely Lily what's happening?" He asked, looking around. "Smalltail, Branchstalk is here to check your hearing." Lilystorm replied, loudly. Smalltail didn't hear her. Branchstalk huffed. "If he couldn't here you, I think he's gone deaf.." He replied. Lilystorm gasped. "He'll never hear me say I love you ever again?" She cried. Branchstalk felt bad. Lilystorm huffed, intertwining her tail with Smalltail's little nub. "I love you too Lilystorm." He rasped.

Branchstalk sighed as he curled up in his nest. He was already tired, and all he did was care for the elders. With a tired turn, the white and black medicine cat closed his eyes. He hoped for everything to be okay. And no more visions.. He was getting tired of the visions. Branchstalk flicked his tail in front of his nose, burying it in his fur.

"Branchstalk!" Purred a tiny voice. He opened one eye, seeing Dawnkit, Cricketkit and Lilackit. "I tried to keep them from coming in." Huffed Lilackit. "They never listen!" She hissed. "Whatever Lie-Kit." Cricketkit snickered. "Be nice." Branchstalk yawned, stretching. "Anyway, can you tell Smallpaw if he brings feathers, he has to bring some for all of us?" Dawnkit asked. "All he ever does if give them to Sweetkit. It's so annoying. Sweetkit is so annoying." She mewed. "Don't bother Branchstalk with such.. stupid questions! Sweetkit is much more mature than you two, besides, she shares!" Lilackit replied. "Stop being so bossy Lilackit!" The black kit hissed. "All of you stop fighting, I'm trying to rest." Branchstalk murmured. Lilackit huffed, shooing away the two kits. "So, when will I become a medicine cat?" She asked. "The same time as Sweetkit and Whitekit will become warrior apprentices." He replied softly. "So.. one moon?" Lilackit smiled, running off quickly. Branchstalk smiled.

The sun rose gently over the new day. Branchstalk sat with Silvermoon and Cloudtuft. The three were sharing a rabbit Tumbleweed caught. It was scorching hot. "It's so hot. I feel so sick." Groaned Blackfeather as he padded into camp. "Not as bad as Branchstalk. Badgersight said he had a seizure. Whitekit had one this morning.." Thornbush sympathized. " Aw Whitekit, poor baby." Pineheart frowned. Branchstalk flattened his ears in embarrassment. Silvermoon licked his cheek. Her heat warmed him up more. "It's okay Branchstalk. It's super hot. I'm surprised I didn't have any reactions yet." She murmured. "That's because you have some of the shortest fur the in the Clan! Only Tigerpaw, and Smalltail have that type of blessing!" Cloudtuft panted. Branchstalk smiled slightly. "I'm so thirsty, anyone want to find water with me?" Silvermoon asked, stretching. "I'll come." Cloudtuft smiled. "Great." She purred. Branchstalk remembered Lilackit's vision. Heat flared through him. "Wait," He whispered, before collapsing.
