Alone

Remember when your lips kept me awake
Like ink on my skin
Engraved in my heart
With every kiss to the neck and caress to the cheek
I'm permanent he said

If this was love than why'd you leave
You used to say we are forever
Now your words take aim and shoot
I foolishly forgave you
thinking my skins bulletproof

I know that loving you isn't perfect
Hurting should just mean it's real
But If this were true
Why does my heavy heart
Beat alone
