*Julia's POV*
"Jack, i'm hungry." I told my friend who was in the drivers seat.
"Hold on, we're almost coming to the town. Can you call the motel to reserve a room?"
"Fine."

After silently eating, (to not draw any attention to us) we got to the motel and went to our room.
"You only go one bed?!" Jack exclaimed.
"It was cheap! I'm sorry." I totally forgot to get doubles.
"It's fine, i'll sleep on the couch."
"No... um, remember that time." I trailed off.
"What time?" He asked.
"That time I made you sleep on the floor. Two years ago, when I ran away." I explained.
"Oh yeah."
"You can take the bed, i'll sleep on the couch." I offered.
"Or..."
"Or what?" I asked.
"We can both sleep on the bed?" He shrugged.
"Okay..." I changed and laid down.
He changed and laid down beside me. I turned away to turn off the lamp. When I turned back we both faced each other. I could see the outline of his face with the moonlight shining through the small windows. I could feel his breath on my arm.
"Jack."
"Yeah?"
I kissed him passionately, I needed to get it out of my system. Although Jack was my closest friend, that didn't mean we couldn't enjoy our time away from the world. I mean, it's not like we're gonna publicly announce our kiss or anything else we did that night. This was an escape from the crazy world we live in. I loved Jack and he loved me, but we didn't love each other in a marriage or relationship way. More like friends with occasional benefits. Most of the time we were mature, appropriate teenagers, but all teens need a break now and then.
I just hope the rooms next to us didn't here anything.

"Good morning, Jack."
"Morning, J." He said. I noticed he was already awake and was making breakfast. By making breakfast, I meant he was warming up the leftovers from last night.
"Jack?"
"Yeah?"
"You know we could never be together right?"
"Yeah."
I paused, "That was an unexpected reaction."
He came over to me and sat next to me. "Julia, i'm not your soulmate and I understood that a long time ago. All this will be temporary and I accept it."
I nodded and looked down.
"I'm just enjoying the time I have with you until it runs out and you go after someone else." He said.
"I'm not-"
"I know your not trying to use me, J. I know the type of person you are. And I love that person as my best friend, sometimes more."
I smiled, he knew me so well.
"Thank you Jack." I kissed his cheek, put on my shirt, and got dressed.
