Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You'll make it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back-----
Natalie woke up with her body tangled in Paul's shirt. She moaned, attempting to move her neck but it felt stiff from the position she slept in. She shifted, turning on her back and forcing her eyes open. She looked around to see she was still in Paul's den and on the very same couch they fell asleep on. The sun was peaking in through the curtains, leaving a trail of dust particles in it's path and Natalie let out a sudden gasp and abruptly sat up, her brain going on full alert.
"Shit, shit, shit!" She whispered and looked up see Paul walk into the room. He was fully dressed for the day, except his hair was lightly damp as if he just took a bath. He glanced at her and smiled lovingly.
"Mornin', luv." His eyes raked over with a smirk and Natalie followed his gaze down to her waist to see the shirt was bunched up, revealing her knickers. She quickly pulled it down and crossed her legs modestly.
He noticed the panicked look on her face and frowned, "What's wrong? You don't regret our decision to be—"
"Before you say it, no, I do not regret it. But I shouldn't have stayed here last night. My brother is going to kill me."
He sighed, glancing at his watch, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let you fall asleep." He admitted before walking to the small-squared mirror on the wall and combing his hair, "But I'm running late, I needed to be at the studio an hour ago." He told her, "So I'm going to have to run out of you, I'm afraid."
"Oh," She glanced down at her hands. She was going to ask Paul to drop her off at home so she didn't have to walk home in her athletic clothes. She didn't want to ask him because he would feel obligated to do it and he was already running late.
He turned to see her dejected expression, and he rushed over to her, bending down in front of her and taking her hands in his, "I'm sorry, Darling, I'll see you tonight hopefully?" He asked, his eyes pleading with her.
"Of course," she gently caressed the side of his face, letting her fingers brush through his hair, "If I don't show up, assume the worst. Like the possibility that my brother locked me up in a tower."
He chuckled, "I'll come rescue you, I promise. Although, I'm certain you can handle yourself." He leaned up, cupping her face in his hands and kissing her tenderly on the mouth. Natalie returned his kiss, wishing he didn't have to leave so suddenly. He pulled back and smiled, "I'll see you soon." He said, standing to grab his keys and leaving.
Natalie changed into her clothes from the day before and then slipped Paul's shirt over them and closed it tightly around her. She grabbed her things and left his house. The walk back was awkward, especially with cars passing. However, she just looked straight ahead and avoided eye contact with everyone.
She replayed the night before over and over again in her head. Her insides fluttered, and she bit her lower lip and smiled. They didn't sleep together, not yet. Natalie made it clear she wasn't ready for that. She knew Paul wasn't used to waiting and probably jumped into physical stuff very quickly, but he said he was willing to wait until she was ready. Instead, they shared experiences, beliefs, and memories all between sweet, long, loving kisses. She loved kissing him, and she loved the feeling of his soft body on top of hers and how huggable he was. Paul wasn't ripped with muscles like the men at the club, and he wasn't skinny either. Natalie loved his body and the way he filled out his clothes. She blushed as her imagination went wild with wonder. She shook it out of her system just as she reached her front door.
