Alexander sat in a room, illuminated only by the 4 monitors that sat in front of him. On the monitors were different areas of Nadia's apartment.

The kitchen, livingroom, bedroom, and bathroom.

He had placed cameras there when Nadia was in the hospital after their last fight. The fight that ended their relationship. Her father had ordered him to stay away from her, but she was the love of his life. He was not going to leave her and no one else could have her.

She was his for eternity.

He sighed heavily as he watched Nadia pull Mekhi's arm over her slender body. He studied her figure; she had all the same perfect curves as before. Her skin was soft, but now littered with scars. They were the scars that he had placed there. The scars he that drove her away.

He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. He focused on Nadia's light breathing and imagined her next to him. He remembered the scent of her hair after she washed it, the sweet smell of strawberries. He could hear her obnoxious laugh in his head from when he tickled her. He could feel her breath as she grazed her lips against his. He bit his lip as he remembered the soft moans she would make while he made love to her.

The same moans Mekhi was rewarded with the night before as he defiled her marked body.

In Alex's head Mekhi was poison to Nadia. He would ruin her and Alexander could not allow that. He could not allow his perfect angel to be hurt or destroyed by such an animal. Alexander knew the real monster Mekhi was and that only he could save his precious Nadia from him.

Alexander had a privileged life growing up. His father owned everything and controlled all of Chicago. The Madden's were untouchable. Every cop, every judge, and anyone of high authority belonged to them. His father owned them and their careers. Alex never had to worry or watch his back. Every incident he had ever gotten involved in always magically disappeared, just like two years ago.

Alex's jaw tightened at the memory of his fist connecting with his princess's jaw; the crunching of her bones underneath his knuckles nearly made him sick. He hated hurting Nadia, but it was the only way to keep her in check. Alex learned from his father how to treat women.

Respect them, but put them in their place if needed.

Nadia always needed to be put in her place.

She would constantly question him of his whereabouts and get angry at him. She would test him or threaten to leave and he couldn't have that. She even went through his phone and computers, trying to figure out where he vanished to at night. He couldn't allow that either and he couldn't break his promise.

He made a promise to her father that she would never find out what they did. All they ever wanted was her safety.

Nadia's father was close with his father. Alex remembered the stories that Nadia told of never seeing her dad as a child. She never saw him because he was with his own father. Her dad was his father's right hand man. He scheduled all the deals, enacted the trades, and performed the executions of other staff members.

Alex's family was known for many things. They could get their hands on guns, money, women, and children. They didn't care what it was as long as they were getting paid for it.

Alex returned his focus to the monitors. She was so peaceful while sleeping. She was pure and uncorrupted by her father's truth unlike him. His father corrupted him with violence and smothered his light.

He was only twelve when his father decided to initiate him into the family and take away his innocence.
