As we got closer to the U-Gin Genetic Research Lab, Clint steered the jet towards a neighborhood of apartment complexes across from the building. The back hatch of the jet opened to a roof and Steve nodded to me to jump out.
I landed in a crouching position and stood back up, keeping my eye on the lab.
"Ellie and I will get to the lab and try to find Helen." Steve said as he jumped off and stood next to me. "Two minutes, stay close."
We jumped across buildings making our way towards the lab, Steve was taking larger leaps than me and kept having to wait for me to catch up. Super Soldier vs short legs. We reached the building and went in through a back door. The place was empty and as we came to a lab we found dead bodies of scientists, I recognized them as Helen's assistants.
"Dr. Cho?" Steve called out.
I walked into another room of the lab where sparks flew out from a machine and shattered glass was strewn on the floor. Two my right, Helen lay on the ground, a gash of blood stretched across her chest, she was conscious, but in pain.
"Steve," I called him over as I kneeled down in front of her. Steve ran over and handed me a cloth, I took it and put pressure on Helen's wound. "What happened?" I asked Helen.
"He's uploading himself into the body," Helen answered, she put her hand on the cloth, signaling that she could take care of herself and I released my pressure.
"Where?" Steve asked.
Helen shook her head in reply, Steve began to get up, but she grabbed his arm. "The real power is inside the cradle. The gem, its power is uncontainable. You can't just blow it up. You have to get the cradle to Stark."
"First we have to find it," Steve said.
"Go," Helen nodded towards the door.
Steve and I left the lab and headed towards the bridge.
"Did you guys copy that?" Steve asked Clint and Nat.
"We did," Clint answered through the earpiece.
"I got a private jet taking off, across town, no manifest." Natasha said.
I looked into the city and at all the cars, trying to find some sort of lead. I looked down the bridge to see a truck leaving the lab.
"What about that truck?" I asked.
"Yep, right above you two." Clint said. "It's heading towards the loop by the bridge. I got three with the cradle, one in the cab. I could take out the driver."
"Clint, that's a bad idea." I said.
"If that truck crashes, the gem could level the city." Steve waved for me to follow him and we began climbing a ladder up the bridge. "We need to draw out Ultron."
We reached the upper bridge just as the truck was heading below us, Steve made a running start and jumped onto the roof of the truck.
"What am I supposed to do?!" I threw my arms up and looked around the bridge.
"Follow me!" Steve replied.
"Oh," I said to myself before tapping my left heel. "Right."
I jumped over the bridge barricade, shot out a patch of ice and began skating on the road behind the truck, keeping to the side so that my ice wouldn't cause any cars to crash. Steve lowered himself down onto the back of the truck and held onto the door, but a line of plasma shot out from inside, causing the door to swing open.
