|Chapter 23 |Realization?|

Sprout couldn't comprehend it , his new friend just went so quickly and Dai just shook it off? He could feel his sap boil with anger but he couldn't say anything.He was too much of a coward to go against the words of an elder and he knew it.

Azure however was angry yet the tears flooding her eyes signified that she was upset she let out an angered scream "YOU- YOU- HE". The words that she spat out didn't seem to connect at all but Dai already had gotten the gist of it.

"Tell me what can you do now your friend is gone? Are you going to go after the beast and get yourself killed? Is that what SUN would have wanted ? Look here kids you can't do anything. In a situation like this you're nothing but a pampered brat. You have no idea on how scarce and terrifying the world is because it was all hidden from you. Who hid it? Who caused it? Your father Sprout. Now do you want to leave or not?".

Sprout and Azure decided to keep their mouths shut and follow Dai. They had no idea on what Dai was talking about and they were sure Dai knew they didn't understand. But one thing they knew for sure is that they wanted Sun back. Sure he was annoying and cowardly at times but he was the one who stuck everyone together , he was the glue to their acquaintanceship , now without him Sprout and Azure were back to strangers.

Were they friends in the first place? or were they simply just helping each other out due to similar goals.

Now that Sprout thought about it why was Azure in the castle? For sure she wasnt a guest , why else would her attire be so shady? Did she have ulterior motives but got distracted due to Moss? I dont remember father ever personally meeting the Blueberry family..... What happened to Moss? How come Dai saw through their disguises? How did she know he was the prince Sprout and not carnation and why did the village heads need a meeting right after he arrived? Why did Dai dislike him so much? What did his father do?

All of these questions ached Sprouts head as he couldn't find any answered but as he and Azure silently followed Dai the amount of questions only increased. He started to think...

"Was coming here a mistake?"

After a while they were past the waterfall entrance way and now in the forest. Dai stopped in her tracks and looked around cautiously maybe another one of those brown six legged beasts?

But before he could ask he heard Azure murmur under her breath. It was shocking , disgusting. He couldn't help but think about it , it was as if the world suddenly disappeared and it was only him. He thought "Why?" but the answer was clear enough. "Why am i even asking myself such a stupid question? Its obvious.. I'm too trusting of others... too dense... too gullible.. I'm stupid.. I'm weak.. I let Sun die... I let Azure fool me....".

He felt like as if the safe wall built for him all these years just shattered into pieces. He could see that the wall may have protected him but it also was his greatest weakness. But what did Azure say? What could've she had planned to do that made Sprout so upset and confused?

"I should've followed fathers orders and assassinated the king instead of going through all of this".
