He's My Jonah - A Jyrus Story (COMPLETED)

Chapter 1

Jonah had always been popular, it was like a gift that he had been given. He had enjoyed the attention, even if it did make life more stressful. He was going out with Amber, which made him feel happy.

Andi was dating Walker, which was going really well for them both. Walker was kind and only Andi mattered to him. They were smitten with each other, their love being apparent for all who saw them.

Buffy had noticed Andi change ever since she Walker started going out. She was much more confident and it gave her strength. Buffy knew what that felt like, she was going out with Marty and together they made each other complete.

That's where Cyrus had a problem. He was very isolated, and didn't have a boyfriend yet. All of his friends, particularly Jonah, had been very supportive when he came out.

The only problem was that he couldn't get over his feelings for Jonah. He was deeply in love, but felt that he couldn't waste his time pining.

He knew TJ, but unlike Cyrus, TJ was interested in girls. Although he was very fond of Cyrus, just not in that way.

One thing that had become apparent was that TJ was the only one who made an effort to talk to Cyrus. They were sat down together in the Spoon, which was always interesting.

Cyrus: Hello TJ, I've been wanting to talk to you

TJ: Hi Cyrus, what do you want to say?

Cyrus: I... I don't know how much longer I can keep my feelings to myself.

Cyrus was starting to sweat, his forehead was shining as it came out almost uncontrollably. He felt his heart race.

TJ: What do you mean?

Cyrus: I've been keeping another secret from everyone.

TJ: And what would that be exactly?

Cyrus: I am in love with Jonah!

Cyrus was not able to believe that he had said it out loud for the first time, but he knew if he didn't, he would start to crack.

TJ: Ah... you mean you are finally thinking about telling him?

Cyrus: Yes, I know he won't hate me, but I don't know how I'll do it.

TJ: Are you worried about Amber?

Even hearing her name made Cyrus angry. He was so jealous of Amber, she seemed to get away with everything bad that she did. TJ could see how upset Cyrus was getting, but he knew it was best for Cyrus to let it all out.

Cyrus: She's manipulative! She treats him like dirt on her shoe! I hate the fact that he doesn't even care about what she does.

TJ: Perhaps I can find a way to, you know, split them up...

Cyrus: I don't think I can let you do that. I may hate Amber, but I love Jonah and it would break his heart.

TJ: If I split them up, it'll be my fault, not yours. I'm willing to do this for you, if that's what you want.

Cyrus: But TJ---.

TJ: Listen, I've liked Amber for ages, if we split them up, we can both be happy.

Cyrus: But how do you know Amber would even like you?

TJ: She flirts with me shamelessly, and the only thing stopping me from doing it back is Jonah.

Cyrus: What would Jonah say?

TJ: He already knows, I told him how I felt before they went out.

Thinking it through, Cyrus did see that there would be an up side, but at the same time he knew it would be wrong to do what TJ suggested.

Cyrus: I'll admit it's tempting, but I don't want him to be heartbroken.

TJ: He won't be, he'll have you!

Cyrus: I don't think it's realistic. Do I really not have a chance with you?

TJ: You're a great guy Cyrus and I love you, but not like that.

Cyrus: Okay, I guess.

TJ: Hey looks, there's Jonah, without Amber!

As TJ pointed, Cyrus turned around and saw his love had just entered the Spoon. Jonah was giving his signature smile with his dimples fully displayed. He spotted the other guys and joined them.

Jonah: Hey dudes.

TJ: Hey bro.

Cyrus: H-hi J-Jonah!

Jonah: You okay Cyrus?

Cyrus: Me? Yes I'm f-fine.

Sensing an opportunity was arising, TJ decided it was time to subliminally do a favour for Cyrus, hoping he would know why.

TJ: I've gotta go and practice for basketball, see you two later.

He left before Cyrus really understood what was happening, but at least Jonah was now sat directly opposite him.

Jonah: I don't think you are fine, you're lying.

Cyrus: Um...

Jonah: Listen, if something's bothering you, you can tell me.

Cyrus: Well, you see I...

Jonah: Is someone bullying you?

Cyrus: What?

Jonah: If they are I'll beat their ass!

Cyrus couldn't help but feel touched that Jonah was concerned, and also kept thinking about the things he wanted Jonah to do to his ass. He was brought back to reality by Jonah.

Jonah: Yo... earth to Cyrus!

Cyrus: Oh... um... sorry Jonah, I was just thinking.

Jonah: What about? Please tell me.

As Cyrus was about to speak, Amber entered and interrupted. She smirked at Jonah and then looked at Cyrus with a smug smile.

Amber: Hey babe.

Jonah: Hi you.

Amber: Come on, we've got a movie to see!

Jonah: Actually, Cyrus was just talking to me about something.

Amber: Really? I'd love to know what. Go on then, tell us you dork!

Cyrus immediately reconsidered everything and he just couldn't bring himself to tell Jonah whilst Amber was there.

Cyrus: It's nothing really.

Jonah: It isn't---.

Amber: He said it was nothing, now let's go!

Jonah: But, h-he---.

Cyrus: It's okay, you two just go on and have fun.

Amber dragged Jonah out of the spoon, causing Cyrus to start crying. It was really tough to accept that Jonah loved Amber.

As they left, Jonah began to become uncomfortable with the way that Amber was treating his friends, particularly Cyrus.

Jonah: Could you please treat Cyrus with a little respect?

Amber: Why should I? He's very weak, everyone else has given up on him, so why don't you?

Jonah: Because he's my best friend, I can't just give up on him. He matters to me.

Amber: Even though he's gay?

Jonah: And what's that supposed to mean?

Amber: It's weird, he should get himself fixed.

Jonah didn't know how to reply. The only thing that he knew for sure was it was making his blood boil for Amber to even suggest such a thing.
