{contains abuse, violence, anxiety}The week had passed faster than expected and Minnie sat in the crowded train on her way back home from her night shift at the bookstore. Crowded places always left her with a feeling of anxiety rushing through her mind - there are too many people, too many bodies being too close to hers. Loud noises and weird smells. She sunk into her seat, her head resting against the window as she counted the stops left before she finally could get out of this moving hell.
The tensed and anxious feeling just added onto her already tired and stressed self. Her body longed for her huge, soft bed and a resting sleep though she knew that there was no safety or comfort she desperately yearned for. She pulled her hair tie on her wrist and let it snap against it, in order to ease her urge to cry. The stinging feeling calmed her down a little bit and minutes later her stop finally came.
After leaving the crowded train, Minnie started to walk home. It was dark outside, a refreshing cold filling the silent Friday night. She stopped in front of her house, observing the front window where flickering lights could be seen.
He's still awake
Debating wether to go inside or not she put herself together, unlocked the front door and stepped inside.
The piercing smell of alcohol flooded her senses as she silently tiptoed to her room. Her father though seemed to recognize the noises."Min-ah?", he mumbled.
Anxiety rushed though her veins. She froze in place not daring to make a single move.
"Min-ah?! I know you are here!", his voice filled with venom mumbled.
She heard heavy, stumbling footsteps coming closer. A silent tear slipped down her face, filled with fear.
He sounds so angry already
It's all my fault, god please make it stop I wanna go
Why is this happening
I have to get out of hereHer father appeared in her sight with an ominous broken glass bottle in his right hand, the left one clawed onto the door frame in order to keep his balance.
"You ruined it!! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!!", he screamed, his voice cracking. Minnie still was frozen in place, observing her drunk father with her eyes flushed wide open in terror. "I HATE YOU LITTLE BRAT, YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!"
He made a step forward and it took mere seconds for the bottle in his hand to be thrown in Minnie's direction, striving her right arm and shattering onto the wall behind her. She winced in pain - finally coming to her senses. Stumbling to the front door she tried to escape this hell but her father was faster than she thought, grabbing her by her wrist, making her fall onto the ground. Her body colliding with it making a loud thud. She groaned as a foot kicked her ribs. Her jaw was clenching, she was hissing in pain and her eyes were full of tears as she winced.
His strong kick made him stumble back, fighting to keep his balance. Minnie quickly got up to her feet, groaning, using his distraction to escape, grabbing her backpack and rushing out of the front door. She never stopped running, her feet carried her nowhere certain but anywhere far away from her father. Her sight was blurry, tears streamed down her face.
It is too much. Too much. Too much. I can't.
After minutes of running, that felt like hours, her body collapsed onto the cold pavement. Lungs aching, weak, powerless. She breathed heavily, sobbing loudly. Slowly looking up, she realized she had no idea where she was. Tall buildings, an empty road, a bridge. It was dark and cold outside. She was scared. Holding her head and breathing heavily she closed her eyes as an attempt to calm down.
After catching her breath a little bit, her body started to tremble - the adrenaline and anxiety flushed through her tired body as her arms were hugging her legs. She took out her phone. She needed help. And only one name came into her mind. A beautiful name, giving her hope, calming her down. Her cold fingers scrolled through her contacts hovering over a contact, pressing down immediately.
Calling Seojun ...
"Hello?"
"Hi", she sniffled.
"I know it's super late b- but I don't know who else can help me. I-Im so sorry. I need your help Taehyung. I-i don't know where I am", a sob left her mouth.
"Hey, hey, hey don't apologize, I haven't slept anyways. I'll come and pick you up ok? Can you send me your location?", his soft and calming voice hummed.
"Y-yes I can do that"
"Ok, stay right there ok? I'm coming."
