The reason why Romano has such a hard time accepting and being nice to Germany dates back to when he and Italy were young and lived with Austria. He had heard of Holy Rome making Italy cry along with leaving him and promised himself to forever hate him. When he first met Germany he couldn't help but notice the similarities between Germany and HR which quickly caused him to assume that Germany would have the same fate as HR. -Salinas
