The bell rings just as a slip into the classroom and into the empty seat next to Liam at the back where he is trying to flick a Malteser into his mouth, I smirk and snatch the packet out of his hands to his faux horror.

"Right, a quick and focused discussion on factors affecting participation in sport and how to apply to applicable laws and theories," Pope booms from the front of the room, I take out the notepad dedicated to Sport and onto the desk.

"Got a pen?" Liam asks beside me, scratching his head as he searches throughout his jean pocket and bag, I roll my eyes and ping a biro to him, he nods and then realises I'm still munching on his snack before snatching it back comically. I turn my attention back to the front where Pope is scribbling down something on the board from another student at the front. His gaze lands on me expectantly.

"Environment, if it's less privileged the facilities won't be there," I say, stretching back on the spinning chair.

"Good," Pope nods adding it to the list on the board.

"What's going on with you and the nerd then?" Liam asks, I feel myself gulp.

"Nothing, why do you ask?" I say, fervently busying myself with writing down something, he laughs at me.

"When have you ever written anything down?" he laughs, "There's definitely something going on,"

"Paige Winters," I snipe, knowing that the joust of Liam's once crush would soon shut him up, it worked. I smile smugly but I'm getting worried our friendship isn't going unnoticed and Liam is only the first of many. I struggle to focus the rest of the lesson and the bell ringing is music to my ears, as Liam makes his way to his Business lesson, I head to the library.

I sit down and try to make the complicated writing sink in, the information about forces and god knows what else. The book is opened and shut within the space of a minute, I stare absently around at the few other concentrated students with a free period. I decide to go instead to the student lounge area by the canteen and chill for a bit.

The end of the day couldn't come soon enough.
