I feel like I've been waiting here forever... But in reality I'm sure it's something like five minutes. Whoever was wanting to visit me they were taking there time and I was almost out of patience here. The door opened up and Mari was there with her regular stern face to greet me. "Follow me. We need to discuss a few arrangements.". She signaled me to follow and I did so. Just what was this leading to and was it going to be any good?We walked out of the prison and we walked out of the fenced area without even saying a word to each other. We walked into the school and she eventually stopped at a staircase. "It truly is a sad occasion one someone such as you turns out just to be like all the others. I thought you were to be trusted and maybe things would be different but I was wrong. Do you see them out there?". She pointed to the window and I saw a crow and a... Was that a raven? "Something so the same but in the end... There is no possible way for them to ever get along.".
"That's bullshit Mari!" I shouted near inches away from her which happened to startle her. "I thought we were the same! You were always the leader that people looked up to. You have the smarts, beauty, and even the look of someone you want to look up to. I've always had my brain and that's it but I've made it this far! You may not have known but I've looked up to you since I've met you... But I never thought you would steep so low!" I get a few tears running down my face and I wiped them away.
"I've lost everything except for my sister. My family! My name! And even my reputation! She is the only thing I have left and I wish it wasn't!". "What do you wish you still had? What could be more important then your family or name?" "The USC!" This took her by surprise. "You three were my real first friends. I know that I went through so much shit because of you three but that's what friends do. Hana with her teas and Meiko with her training endlessly were good times. Then there was you...".
"What about me? I've rarely saw you besides for school work or something involving the prison." "But that's what made those moments great! I got to see you at your best and I was in awe! This girl was running this entire school and she looked like nothing was ever wrong. She's one of the top scoring students, runs a student council and she has time to run this school prison! It's amazing and I was so happy to be working under you.". Things were now silent after I spilt my guts to Mari and I couldn't blame her. I couldn't find the right words before but now I've found them.
"I-I'm.... I-I'm sorry (Y/N).". What!? Did she just apologize? "I know that you don't deserve this and I'm truly sorry. Since we are being honest right now... I have a few things to say." "I've admired how even though you had this fear of women you always tried your hardest to work with us and this entire school of girls. No matter what happened you always pushed forward even if it was an injury like when Hana kicked you off that later the first time you two met." We both chuckled at that memory and she went silent again just like me. " You always tries making people happy even if it cost you your own happiness and that's something I admire about you. You're smart, selfless, and a good friend.... That's why I'm ending your sentence in the prison immediately. We are going to my office next to fill out the paper work and get you reinstated into the USC and become our good friend again." I didn't have any words for what she had just said but I did have action.
I leapt forward and pulled her into a hug, Nothing to tight but more of a gentle grasp really. I didn't need to say anything as Mari wrapped her arms around me and we were embracing each other. I'm glad I'm going to have Hana, Meiko, and Mari back. Especially Mari... Mari... A girl with everything and a guy like me with nothing. The two of us don't really go together but here we are... It's funny isn't it? "Mari... After this do you want to grab some tea?" "Of course. I'll text Meiko and Hana the loc-". "I was actually thinking just the two of us. Is that a big problem?" Mari's face grew a little red and she responded "O-Oh! I thought... Of course. I know this excellent place with a rather scenic view.".
I held her hand as we walked away to her office and I couldn't be happier. It's almost like my life is back a track and it's going to stay that way. This really is a new beginning for the both of us and I'm glad I'll have Mari by my side.
(Window POV)
As Mari and (Y/N) walked away the scene zoomed onto the tree branch outside of the school. The crow and raven on the branch were now nuzzling each other. It seems that even though they are different that's not what keeps them away from each of them. It's those excavation differences that keeps them together... Does that remind you of someone or doesn't it?
Ending Mari is done! Nice and sweet! This ending I like very much and while I do regret this decision of having multiple endings I do take joy in endings like this one! Thanks for reading and Enjoy your day!
