Everyone was eating their breakfast enjoying the silent morning until Meiko opened the door and called us to attention. "Today is a special day for you all. Today is the sports festival and since the council has events that take away from us watching over you... You all will be going to it today.". I completely forgot about the sports festival! I wonder if I would be able to participate in track and archery but I'm probably just wishing. "We've gotten you regular uniforms for the day and for the one of you actually in sport clubs you will be able to participate today." Awesome! I guess there is something to look forward to today.
We all got changed and were escorted to where the festival was being held. "Now we cant be watching you all this tile but let me warn you. If we catch wind of anything wrong because of you prisoners then there will be hell to pay." Meiko walked away and we were all standing around looking at the various activities and stalls. "Well I'm hungry for some stall food so I'm gone!" Shingo left and shortly after everyone followed. I should go find Kiko and see if she is running today. I started for the field and enjoyed the nice smells from the various food. This seemed like it was going to be a good day but it got worse when I noticed all the glares I got from the girls. I almost thought today was going to be a normal one.
"Brother! I'm so happy that your allowed out of the prison for today!". "Kiko! It's so good to see you!". We hugged each other for awhile until she was the one who let go first. "Are you going to be running today? You are still a member of the track club after all." "I plan on it. I also need to enter the archery competition. I even heard there is a giant prize for winning but no one knows what it is." "Well you can worry about those later! Let's go get some stall food! I want some takoyaki!" Kiko was being the same as usual and while I found it childish before... I find it slightly calming considering the events that have been happening. "Alright but remember not to eat to much. Don't want to get bloated before running.".
We walked around together eating the various food offered at the stalls. We also talked to some of the guys doing there own things like eating the food or trying some of the games that were offered around. It was really nice and everything was joyful until Kiko said she was going to talk to some of her friends for a few minutes. "Alright but remember to meet me at the track for the race." She ran off to her friends but as she left I felt three people standing behind me... I think I know who they are. "Hello (Y/N). Enjoying the food and games with your sister?" It was the USC and they were wearing some more relaxing uniforms like everyone else. "Look I know that we are having some problems right now but I'm just trying to enjoy the festival with my sister. If you want to get into some sort of argument I recommend finding someone else." "It's nothing like that (Y/N). We just wanted to wish you luck in the archery completion since it's obvious you're going to enter it.". They walked away and I couldn't help but feel a little pissed off.
It was getting close to the track race announcement so i started for the track. When I arrived though I hadn't seen Kiko anywhere. This race is just as important to her as it is to me, Where is she? I didn't really have time to look for her since we all had to get changed for the race. I returned to the track but I still hadn't seen her. I suppose we will have to do without her. I walked up to the rest of the team but it seems I was going to meet some retaliation from them. "So who's running today? I know that Emi is a good starter... If that means anything of course.". One of the older members approached me, She's been apart of this club as long as me. She was inches away from me and she was staring me right in the face. "Not all of us believe the USC bullshit. It's good to have you back and you're running past since you're the fastest we have." She put out her hand and I took it with mine. "It's good to be back.".
The race was about to start and that's when Kiko finally shown up. "Phew! I almost missed the beginning of the race. I'm glad I got here just in time." Something was off... Wait what's that on her shirt. "Kiko... Where were you?" " I was just with my friends. What's wrong?" Hmmm.... Maybe it was just my imagination. "Woah! Look it's the champion! You were so amazing!". A group of girls showed up and they were wearing shirts with something written on them. "Takoyaki eating contest.... Kiko don't tell me you entered this." "Hehehe... Maybe I did... And maybe I didn't." I told her not to each that much and she did it anyway. "Now you can't run. Don't worry though since I'll be running today.".
The race went smoothly and while it sucked I wasn't running with Kiko I did have her cheering me on. I managed to clear the gap of space we lost during the race and we managed to win in first place. "That was close... We nearly lost. It's good I had you cheering me on sister." "Of course! I'll also be cheering you on during the archery contest!". Good, I think she'll be the only one cheering me on. "Hey (Y/N)! Hold up a minute.". It was the older student who let me run today. "That was some impressive running today. I'm glad you haven't lost your touch in that prison. Once you get out we should grab some tea together." She walked off and I couldn't help but feel a little lost at what happened.
"Let's get going (Y/N)! I want to see you shoot!" Kiko grabbed me by the arm and dragged me along to the shooting range. There was some of the girls from the club and a few newbies at the range. I signed my name and after a few minutes of checking over my equipment the contest started. Now while I may have been a little rusty I wasn't letting that hurt my scoring. I was hitting my target perfectly and it seems from the boos I was in the lead. The contest was over before anyone knew and it turns out I lost... Kinda good since I wasn't really planning on what to do with the prize the USC was offering. "Jeez (Y/N), I can't believe you lost to the girls." "It's all right, Not like I was wanting to win the prize or anything.".
This day was a good break from the current attitude of the prison and I'm glad everyone got to experience some happiness today. Even though I lost people who were close to me I still have my sister by my side and I'm lucky to have her. This was a sports festival to remember and I'm sure I won't be forgetting it any time soon.
Special chapter is done! So I've been writing some nice little good feels chapters since I'm trying to tone down on serious stuff. I've figured out the ending schedule and I plan on doing Mari next then switching between the two councils going down each rank. So after Mari is Risa then Meiko, I'll be busy this next week but Maybe!!! I'll get the chapter out and guess what... It will involve birds! Thanks for reading and Enjoy your day!
