She just stared, almost as if she was in a state of shock over the events that just happened. "Your Mom is currently on a flight home, as we speak. Is there anybody who can stay here with you until she gets here? If not, I have no problem staying here with you until she arrives..", the cop continued. "I need to get my phone and call my Mom.", Sara said, with her voice still shaken. The officer said that she could use his. Sara called her Mom, and was met with crying, as Mrs. Lopez was just happy to hear her daughter's voice.
The days, weeks, and months went by and Sara was slowly able to get over the events of that particular day. She also didn't wear earphones to bed anymore because of the many "What if?" scenarios that would play out in her head.
