3 days to nationals
Maddie's POV
And 2.2.3.4.5.6 and Hold 8!
"Good Madds!" Gia lovingly says to me. Thanks I say tiredly.
She takes note of my tired facial expression before she speaks again.
"Listen honey" Gia says "I know that you have a lot on your mind right now but you can do this I know you can Maddie." Gia says softly as she pulls me in for a hug.
"Thanks Gianna." I say as I walk out to the den tiredly.
I go to my dance bag and no one is here. I pull out my phone and decide to text Josh. (Paige and Brooke's brother)
Maddie- heyyy Josh, whatcha up to?
Josh- not much in just about to go to a hockey game. What about you?
Maddie- dance! As always.. 😊 well gtg bye!!
(Text messages over)
"Sorry!" I exclaim as I bump into none other than Abby Lee Miller.
"Studio C, Five minutes, be there." Abby says to me in a monotone.
"Yup" I answer.
*five minutes later*
Abby's POV
"Listen Maddie I need you to focus on dance! You have to win!" I sternly say to her.
"But..." Maddie starts.
"No buts you will win or be kicked off of this team for the rest of the season! Do you understand me?"
Yes Miss Abby." I mumble
"Oh and by the way no distractions like boyfriends or whoever you are texting." Abby yells.
"Ok, Miss Abby." I stutter
"Now go! Out of my sight!"
Maddie's POV
I turn and quickly walk out of the door so Miss Abby doesn't see the tears that start to stream down my face."
"What's wrong Madds?" Chloe asks me.
"Nothing!" I sob out to her.
I lock my self into the toilet stall and just cry. Kicked off of the team would she really kick me off the team?
"Maddie open up." Chloe asks softly.
I ignore her and sob silently my body shaking as I cry and shiver. The solo was choreographed for Mackenzie how was I supposed to even try and get it perfect when it wasn't meant for me!
I sit there wrapped up in my own thoughts when I hear a sharp knock at the door.
"Madison Nicole!" Open up now!" Chloe exclaims.
I huff as I quickly open the stall door. Chloe comes in and sits next to me and just holds me while I cry.
"We have to get back you know." She says. "Or Abby will kill us both."
Peyton's POV
My plan to get Maddie and Mackenzie kicked off the team has worked so far. My plan to get mackenzie off of the team was originally to tell Abby she did something wrong but since Abby and her had had the argument and Mackenzie 'tripped' I don't even have to do anything about her and Maddie well I'm going to compete against her at this competition and because she's so distracted she'll lose.
Maddie's POV
*One day to competition*
I tried on Mackenzie's 'red' costume it was cute for her in an acro piece but not for me. I'm used to doing lyrical and contemporary solos I haven't had an acro solo since I was five.
I have the choreography for both my solo and the group down pat though.I think... but sometimes when I dance now my mind just goes blank for a second, usually I don't miss a beat so I'll be fine.
"Stop!" Abby yells at me harshly while she pauses the music.
"What is wrong with you Maddie! Get your head in the game! There are three very strong studios here to compete against us and you are here blanking out on me while doing your dance Maddie Please! I will pull your solo if you don't get it together!" Abby yells
After one more hour of rehearsing I leave the studio with a fuzzy head and blurry eyes. I slowly trudge out to the den and get a drink. Abby was rehearsing Brooke's solo, Purple Reign then Chloe, Nia and Paige's Trio, Wishbone and then the group riches to rags. So I had some time to go to Starbucks or something.
"Mom, can I have some money to go to Starbucks?" I ask my mum.
"No honey, you have a two hour ballet pointe technique class in 10 minutes." Mum says.
"I forgot, sorry. But I've run out of water!" I say as I walk out.
I tie my pointe shoes on hurriedly and rush into studio B where the dancers from the senior company and Gia are waiting for me.
I join with the group and wait for it to finish.
