Jeremy was out at 7/11 buying some snacks, when he ran into an old friend... or ex for better use of terms...
"Oh my god! Jeremy Heere, is that you!?" Yelled Christine. Jeremy cringed realizing who it was yelling his name. He awkwardly turned around.
"Oh, hey Christine" He laughed nervously.
"Wow, haven't seen you since we broke up a few years ago!" She said as if it were totally normal.
"uh yeah..." He responded.
"So, how have you been?"
"I've been... okay. What about you?"
"I've been amazing!"
"That's good..."
As Christine launched into a story about god knows what, a guy in a red hoodie overheard the entire conversation. Michael was his name. He could obviously tell that this 'Jeremy' guy was wanting to go, so he did the first thing that came to mind. He grabbed a few bags of chips and candy and head over to this Jeremy.
"Hey babe, sorry I took so long, couldn't decide which brand was better!" Michael said hugging Jeremy. A wide eyed Jeremy looked at him confused.
"Just play along okay?" Whispered Michael. Jeremy nodded.
"Oh, who's this?" Questioned Christine.
"I'm his boyfriend, Michael!" Michael quickly responded.
"How cute!" She paused, a hint of jealousy in her eyes.
"How long have you two been together?" She asked.
"About...6 months now" Replied Jeremy. Michael smiled at him, glad he was playing along and not pushing him away. Jeremy smiled back.
Christine hummed.
"Well, we have to go, but it was nice seeing you!" Said Jeremy.
"Yeah, glad to see you've moved on" She smiled and walked away.
"Thank you so much for saving me back there" Jeremy said turning to Michael.
"No problem! I could tell you were in a bad situation. Also I'm Michael."
"Jeremy."
"This may be weird, but if I could get your number... maybe we could get to know each other?"
"I do owe you one, so sure."
They swapped their phones putting in each others numbers.
Michael laughed putting in his contact name: My Future Boyf🥵
Jeremy smiled putting in his: QT Jere🐬💖
They handed back their phones and laughed.
