"Mia, Mia, wake up. Hurry !" My little sister screamed while bouncing up and down my bed. I groaned and turned myself over on my stomach, not wanting to get up.

"Mia, come on wake up!" She screamed even more.

I turned over to face her with an annoyed look. "Lori, what is so important?" I asked my 12 year sister.

She rolled her eyes before speaking. "Don't you remember what today is? Because it's pretty special." She sassed.

I furrowed my eyebrows before realizing what today was.

"It's dads birthday!" I scrambled to my feet and quickly went downstairs, Lori hot on my heels.

When I got to the kitchen, Mason was already by the stove cooking pancakes, I'm assuming. He turned around and smirked at me.

"Finally, sleeping beauty woke up." I just glared at him and started helping him out.

Lori was putting the last utensils on the table, when we heard footsteps coming from the stairs. The three of us quickly got settled, right when dad emerged in the dining room.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" We shouted in unison. Dads lips curved into a genuine smile. The smile we were hoping to get on this special day of his.

Ever since mom left us 9 years ago, dad never really smiled a genuine smile ever since.

We all got settled in our sits and dug in the meal that was prepared.

My brother cooked two pancakes with syrup and whip cream swirled at the top, with cherries. Bacon and eggs that looks to be a face, and dads favorite of all time; Dark Bitter Coffee.

After breakfast, we went and told dad that we had a "special surprise" for him.

This "special surprise"  was worth Mason, Lori, and I's allowance.

"Lori are you ready?" I hollered from across the hall. I heard a muffled 'yes' before she emerged into the door of my room.

"Ready." She stated. We both made our way downstairs arm in arm.

We went out the door to the car. The four of us got settled. Mason in the drivers seat, dad in the passenger seat, and Lori and I in the back.

The whole ride we jammed out on every song that would come on. Mostly me and Lori singing along to every song that would come on the radio.

Dad and Mason just chuckled at us the whole time.

After about 30 minutes, we finally arrived. Before we got out of the car, I got out a blind fold and put it over dads eyes.

"Is this really necessary?" Dad complained.

"Yes it is dad. Just go with it. And don't worry, we got you." Lori assured him.

Making our way to the building, Mason and I slowly guided dad on his steps.

Once we made it all the way inside, we told dad to take off his blind fold, only for him to find it completely dark.

"Where are we and why is it-" Before he could finish off his sentence, the lights came on and everyone shouted.

"SURPRISE!"

Dad looked so happy. He went over to us and gathered us in a bone crushing hug.

"You guys did this all for me ?" He asked.

"Yeah, we figured we would throw you a party. Because dad, you deserve it. For all of the things you've done for the three of us. Taking care of us by yourself. You managed it without anyone else's help. You just deserve the best dad." Mason concluded.

Everyone then greeted dad happy birthdays and we all just had the time of our lives.

This was just the best day ever.
