Immortal Blood

Chat's POV:

The invisible barrier disappeared and I rushed to Kennedy's side. Purple goo bubbled over her and she returned to normal, a dark purple butterfly escaping from her necklace. Blood now poured out from her self-inflicted wound. I heard the whiz of Ladybug's yo-yo but didn't dare break my gaze away from my slowly dying cousin.

"Plagg, claws in." I whisper. Green light fazed over me but I didn't care as I took off my white overshirt and wrapped it tightly over Kennedy's wound. The blood slowly started soaking the shirt but the pressure from the tight knot slowed the flow. My kwami looked at her with sorrow and for the first time ever, I saw Plagg cry.

A rupture of thunder boomed overhead and I glanced up to see gray skies. A bright pink flash comes from behind me as I scoop up my cousin. A red Kwami with black spots flies over to me with tears flowing from its eyes. I turned around to see Marinette standing, silent tears freely flowing down her face.

With another boom of thunder, it starts to rain. "I wish this had come about under different circumstances." I said as I gave Mari a sad smile. She nodded and said "I think there's a door up here, we should go find everyone else." We made a slow trek to the edge of the roof where there was, in fact, a door. She opened it and I stepped through the small doorframe, carefully carrying Kennedy down the stairs.

As we stepped out of the stairwell, I noticed we were right next to Kennedy's room door. Mari stepped around me and opened the door. Inside was the rest of the group. Relief flooded their faces as Marinette stepped in before me and as I walked through the door. That is. until they noticed Kennedy in my arms with a blood-soaked shirt tied around her abdomen.

Alya gasped and then turned into Nino's shoulder, most likely crying. Nino looked like he was on the verge of tears himself and Dylan looked shattered. I laid her down on her bed and said "She's still alive, but she..." I choked on my words and couldn't finish the sentence. I looked down and let the tears freely flow, no longer able to hold it in.

Dylan's POV:

I looked at Kennedy's lifeless body in disbelief. The only evidence she was still alive was the slight rising and falling of her chest as she took shallow breaths. "What happened?" I asked quietly. I looked up and neither of the unmasked Heroes answered. Finally. Marinette poke, saying "Her body got taken over by Hawkmoth. She was just about to kill me while under Hawkmoth's control when she broke through."

"She said 'Chat, Ladybug, I'm sorry. When I'm gone, take care of everything for me.' and then plunged the sword from her being Akumatized through her own stomach." Adrien finishes for her. I nodded and slowly tears poured out of my eyes. "I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you, Love." I whisper quietly.

Kennedy's POV:

I opened my eyes and was surrounded by pure white. "Where am I?" I ask out loud to no one in particular. "You are in the stretch between the heavens and the earth." A voice says from behind me. I swiftly turn around and am met with the sight of a beautiful angel. Her black hair flows down from her head and brushes her waist, her pure white robe and wings glowing against the white background, and her green eyes sparkling.

"Who are you? Am I dead?" I ask, bewildered at the experience. She laughs, the sound of tinkling bells, and says "I am your Guardian angel, Amariah. And no, you are not dead. You will have to return to your body at some point." I nod slowly, trying to process what exactly is happening.

"So why am I here?" I ask her. She smiles and says "You are here child, to finally be told the truth of your existence." Suddenly, the white walls turn into projected pictures almost like a movie. "You were born of a King and Queen, destined to rule. You were born into a family where they didn't reject the gifts of God which you call magic. And as a child, you knew who he was, what he was, and that he was the one who gifted you with these."

The picture plays through my life as if on fast-forward. "You are here because you willingly sacrificed your life to not only save the ones you love but even your enemies. This is why your full potential will be revealed to you." I nod and say "'For I have plans for you' says the Lord." She smiles at me with eyes shimmering with joy.

"God's plans for you are for you to be one of his warriors. You shall live by the sword and live in power. You shall use your powers not only to protect, but also to heal. With each time you heal someone, it will drain your energy like when you use your gift to control and create fire. I give you the knowledge of these gifts because you are heading into a time of great battle as you try to overcome the evil force of your Uncle and Father. Be wise in your use of these things and have great faith in the one who was and is and is yet to come."

I nod and then pass out again, consumed in darkness. I slowly gain back my senses and feel soft pillowyness underneath me. Then next comes the searing pain from my abdomen, most likely because I did just stab myself. Next, I hear muffled crying and sniffling. Oh no... I think, knowing it's because I sacrificed myself for them. But wait, why do I not feel the hard shingles from the roof? The next thing I hear makes my heart want to shatter. "I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you, Love." Dylan says. With a small groan, I peel my eyes open.
