Guardian of the Miraculous (Sequel to Niece of the Guardian)

Hawkmoth...

Kennedy's POV:

   We were sitting in my room back at the castle. I took a deep breath and said "Okay, now that we are in a safe zone to talk about this, I know who Hawkmoth is." Chaos erupted in my room but all I could do was try to not let my cracked heart shatter. It all calmed down and I looked at Marinette and Adrien. They must have noticed the broken look in my eyes because Adrien looked worried and Marinette sad.

   "A-adrien, I...it's Gabriel. Your father. My uncle." I said dejectedly. Dylan wrapped me in a warm embrace as I broke down, tears pouring from my eyes. I hide my face in his shoulder as I cry for my cousin. His family is truly gone and I only hoped to fix it. 

Adrien's POV:

   Time froze and my heart came to a shattering stop. My father...the one who is supposed to finally love me and care...is Hawkmoth? Why does this...not surprise me? All I feel is sorry for Kennedy. She truly lost everything. Her father's in prison, her Mother an ocean away and she can never contact her again, and now her only other close family turns out to be evil. All I can be is...sad for her.

   I watch as Kennedy sobs into Dylan's shoulder, my heart wanting to reach out to my cousin and comfort her. "Are you alright Kitty?" I hear from softly beside me. I turn to Marinette and say "Yeah, it doesn't surprise me really. I'm just worried about Kennedy. She has lost every parental figure in her life in less than a year. And she is scared and injured." 

   I look back over to Kennedy with worry and say "She's had it worse than me. I honestly am surprised she is still so kind and amazing to everyone." Kennedy sits up and looks to Dylan who is whispering small words of assurance. "I'm honestly glad that she found Dylan, who loves her for her and nothing else. I have a feeling they will be inseparable." 

   Mari smiles at me and says "I'm glad too. She deserves to be happy with him." I hug her close to me as I watch my cousin's tears be dried away by her boyfriend. I smile at the thought of Dylan being my cousin-in-law. 

Kennedy's POV: 

   I look over at Adrien to see him smiling at me and Dylan. A blush lights up my cheeks but I ignore it and say "So if we are going to defeat Hawkmoth when we get back, we need to do some training." I stand up from the bed and walk over to my desk, opening the large middle drawer. I turn to see them looking at me with gaping faces.

   "Oh, I was fine this morning, I just have sore muscles. I am a demi-goddess." I say with a minor wave of my hand. The four supers erupt into a frantic firing of questions while Dylan just smirks. I roll my eyes and say "Mr. Demi-god over there, mind explaining for me please?" The other four then turn to Dylan and ask their questions. 

   I turn back to the desk and work on removing the lock on the miraculous box. "Kennedy, why are you standing in front of an empty drawer?" I smile as I finish unlocking the bow and pull it out of the seemingly empty drawer. "Because I needed this. Alya Cesaire, Nino Lahiffe, you have been recruited." I say. They both step up and look at the box in awe.

   I open the lid and pull out the fox miraculous. "Alya Cesaire, I give you the fox miraculous, which gives you the power to create illusions. You may keep the Miraculous after Hawkmoth is defeated until a time comes when they are needed again." She takes it from me and nods with an excited smile on her face. 

   I grab out the turtle miraculous. "Nino Lahiffe, I give you the turtle miraculous, which gives you the power to protect. You also may keep the Miraculous after Hawkmoth is defeated until they are needed again." He nods and slides it on with his other wrist bands. I smile and say "Alright heroes, it's time to suit up. You have a lot to learn in the next three days."

Gabriel's POV:

   I sat in my office with tears pouring down my cheeks. Why...I never meant for her to kill herself. I was trying to prevent that by Akumatizing her. I thought that just maybe I could get the Miraculous and save Kennedy from committing suicide. Natalie comes up and places a hand on my shoulder, a sad look on her face. "There is nothing you can do sir, you never expected that to happen." She says solemnly. I nod. "Natalie, check up on Adrien and ask him when he will be home, I need to see if my son is okay."
