Chapter 17

Pha POV

I knew that there was something going on with Ming and I finally understand now. He likes Kit and in a thing for revenge, Shane and Yo are now betting to see who is right on first whether Kit will accept Ming's heart and secondly on how fast that it will be. Well, they forgot to include one thing. Me. I'm not going to let just anyone try and steal Kit's heart.

I guess it is time to let them know that I'm standing behind them and listening.

"Baby, what kind of bet are you talking about and why are you talking about Ai'Kit?"

Yo instantly freezes and quickly looks at Shane and Ming. They both are surprised while Ming also has some fear flashing across his face. Yo slowly turn towards me and smiles. Sheepishly, he asks, "Hi, P'Pha. How much of that did you actually hear?"

I walk closer and I stare at Ming as I cross my arms over my chest. I ignore Yo's question and I look at Ming as I raise an eyebrow. "Why are you talking about Ai'Kit?"

Well, I'm not going to let them know that I heard everything. Plus, I want to see what they are going to say, before I start drilling Ming for answers.

As I sit down next to Yo, I swiftly wrap my arm around his waist and pull him close. I place a gently on his cheek, before I turn back towards Ming. "So, are you going to tell me?"

Fear suddenly begins to take over Ming's face and his happy face that was playfully teasing Yo just a few minutes has disappeared. Hesitantly, Ming clears his throat and slowly looks at me while he begins to nervously rub the back of his neck. Well, if this doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what would. However, I'm not going to pressure him, but I'm also not going to take it easy on him. Kit is my best friend after all, and I have to do my duties to protect him.

Ming squirms a little in his seat, but he slowly begins to talk. "Well, these two found out that I kind or sort of like..... uhm..... P'Kit." He takes a deep breath. "They were teasing me and, uhm.... well.... sort of bet on me like we had done to Yo." He quickly begins shaking his hands frantically in the air. "But that doesn't mean that I'm taking this as a joke. It is very serious to me and I'm not playing around."

Well, he manages to save himself somehow, but I still don't know if I should let him even try to court Kit.

I hiss, "Just how serious are you? If you think this is going to be some kind of game that once you win, you can move on, then I'm here to tell you that it isn't a game and you just lost."

Ming frantically waves his hands back and forth in front of himself again. "I'm not playing a game. I'm serious. I have never liked someone like I like P'Kit. I want an actual relationship with him, and I plan on chasing him. I have never chased anyone before. Really."

Yo lightly pats my arms. "P'Pha, he is telling the truth. The girls usually come to him and he doesn't have to do anything. This is the first time that I've ever seen him this interested in a person. I have to be honest though. I still don't know if he knows how to be in a relationship, but I believe him when he says that he will try with P'Kit."

Shane quickly adds, "P'Pha, I agree with Yo. This is the most serious that I've seen Ming since I've known him."

Well, I still don't know, but I don't want to upset my Yo, so I guess I will give him a chance. What he does with that chance is up to him. He can either blow it or win Kit's heart.
