Yesterday flashback....
Jihyo sat down on her office chair with the help of her friend, a short haired girl named Jeongyeon. They have been incredibly close for as long as they can remember. Coming from the same orphanage when they were younger made them rely on one another. They were both abandoned for the same reason of being able to see ghosts.
"Did you go see Mina and Tzuyu? You came back quickly." She pointed out. Jihyo instead let her hands roam around her desk in search of something. Jeongyeon slowly moved the glass of water closer to her hand. Jihyo murmured a quick thanks before grabbing it with two hands. A big drink was taken, which made her friend worry. Jeongyeon took the drink away from her slowly and set it down on the desk. "Easy there" she cautioned "Are you okay?"
Jeongyeon frowned at the sight. She's never seen her friend like this. Jihyo looked panicked, fear making her body tremble slightly. She hasn't seen the retired exorcist like this in years. Jihyo felt as if she was out of breath, as if she went through a marathon. Her hand went to the corner of the desk, looking for the telephone. When she found it she picked up the handset and pressed it against her ear. With the press of a button, the line began to ring. "Please bring Nayeon to my office."
"Nayeon? Why do you need a tracker?" Jeongyeon asked. Jihyo shook her head "Just trust me and wait"
Jeongyeon and Nayeon have the best history together. They've been working alongside for years when it came to exorcism. With Nayeon having the ability to sense a ghosts direction and energy, Jeongyeon would easily take them down with her ability to see and touch ghosts. The pair used to work alongside with Jihyo back in her glorious days. After her incident where she lost her vision, Jeongyeon has been killing ghosts with the help of Nayeon.
"Is something wrong Jihyo?" Nayeon rushed into the office twenty minutes later. Jihyo motioned for her old co-worker to come to her. The girl with bunny teeth did so, glancing at Jeongyeon once before shifting her attention to her boss. "Look at my body and hurry" Jihyo said, feeling her body in pain. "What do you see?"
Nayeon took a deep breath before taking a step back. She carefully observed Jihyo's body and noticed the dark energy radiating around her. "No way…." She breathed out. The girl then slowly reached her arm out, getting closer to the dark matter surrounding the retired woman. "Did it grow? Is it spreading?" Jeongyeon asked.
Her partner shook her head in disbelief. Her eyes were wide, feeling the dark energy burn her hand. She retrieved it, seeing a blister on her left palm. "Worse" Nayeon gulped. "It got stronger. It spread twice the amount…" she showed her burn mark to the two other women in the office. "How? Didn't Jihyo stop it? It can't grow" Jeongyeon asked. Jihyo nodded slowly, clutching onto her shirt.
"It broke the seal….it's alive and it's trying to consume her. She must've went near the source in order for this to happen."
Jihyo stood up with a tiny noise of pain. A groan escaped her lips, her hands relying on the desk in order to stand. "Put that hospital in a lock down and search every personnel and visitors during the past hour. If you find it, call me." Jihyo growled.
"I'll kill it this time"
Next day (present)...
"What does a 'break' even mean?" Mina grumbled. A tiny glare was thrown at her fries, as if they had to do something with all of this. "Tell me about it..." Tzuyu sighed in defeat. The foreign exorcist took a small sip of her drink. She set it down. "Two whole weeks is unimaginable" she huffed in disbelief.
"Aren't you leaving tomorrow?" Mina asked. She propped her head onto her palm. Her fingers played around with her food, not really interested in eating. Not when a peculiar ghost kept invading her thoughts. "I cancelled the flight. I'll return when this punishment is over... " Tzuyu answered with a serious face.
