Mina still couldn't process it.

The silence within her home was just  deafening. The slight hum of the fridge was the only thing trying to fill the empty void. The exorcist was slumped on the couch, spacing off. Out of the numerous amount of thoughts going through her head, one was the most prominent.

Has my place always been this quiet?

Within less than a week, just in a few days, she has gotten used to Chaeyoung's voice. The ghosts presence was like the sun. A bright, vibrant, shining light. Mina had never realized it until now. It's strange for what can happen in a matter of days.

Mina had gotten close with Chaeyoung without realizing it. The exorcist couldn't help it. She didn't feel pressured to talk to her. The ghost made her feel a sense of freedom. The exorcist enjoyed talking to her, and Mina's sure Chaeyoung felt the same way.

Well it's all clear now.

Her hand held her phone. The screen dimly displayed the message that Mina has been reading for the past hour.

She understood where Chaeyoung was coming from, but she didn't want to accept it.

Mina understood why the ghost was bent over her own death. It's a mystery even to her. A ghost that grows and has no recall of their past life, it's a big mystery. Mina would've done the same thing if she was in the ghost's shoes.

The exorcist still couldn't understand why Chaeyoung isn't coming back.

Chaeyoung clearly stated she was started to develop feelings for her. Unfortunately she's a ghost with Mina being among the living. A relationship like that is definitely taboo. It's almost like the golden, unwritten rule of exorcists as well.

Mina at first also felt the way. A relationship between a ghost and a living being is forbidden.

However after meeting Chaeyoung…

All of those beliefs were thrown at the window. From the moment she was bleeding out and saw the most beautiful face ever, she hadn't once thought about it. They kissed the first moment they met and also a second time when Chaeyoung stayed. It felt right to Mina and a hidden part of her wanted more.

She sat back and let out a tiny frustrated noise. It sounded more like a noise a penguin would make. A hand went to her face, gentle fingers grazing over her lips. The exorcist let her eyes close, feeling tired.

This ghost was different. Chaeyoung was different compared to the other ghosts. Mina felt it in the way she was captivated in a matter of days.

So she got up from her seat and set out.

Mina began to take out her work attire from the closet. She quickly began to put on her suit while managing to put on her shoes at the same time. Taking her personal belongings with the exception of her silver knuckle. You never know when you are up and about.

She texted Momo on their whereabouts, to which the rookie replied by saying she was at the headquarters of the company. With the destination in mind she called a taxi in order to get there. When the taxi arrived she quickly made sure her home was properly locked before heading out.

The exorcist has never been to the headquarters. It was only once and the building was at the end of construction. The only reason why she even went was because Nayeon wanted a second opinion on a design. Other than that she hasn't visited ever since.

Looking out the passenger window only made her reminisce the old days.

When Jihyo scouted her, it was at a restaurant Mina was working at before she joined. Afterwards the headquarters was located in a nightclub Jihyo owned. She would take lessons from Jeongyeon when the club was during closing hours. She would keep going to that place to pick up jobs that were assigned to her until the company flourished. With the work app being created she no longer had a need to visit headquarters.
