The young student was startled awake with a flinch. She quickly sat up, feeling disheveled. Her eyes quickly scanned her surroundings. She was in her room. Nothing was out of the ordinary. A hand clutched onto her shirt, feeling her heart beating rapidly. She closed her eyes, letting out a tiny breath.
She let herself drop back into the bed, feeling restless. "A nightmare perhaps..." She thought to herself, unable to remember if she was even dreaming at all.
Wiping the sweat on her forehead, she searched for her phone under her pillow. When she found it, she turned it on. The time made her groan. It was four in the morning. The black haired girl sat up again, unlocking her phone. There were no notifications except for a reminder for paying the rent next week.
Her body felt restless. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep despite how early it was. Having nothing to do, she decided to begin work early. She scrolled through her apps until she found the one her company uses. When she opened the app, a chart appeared of current jobs available and those currently being taken. Seeing that it was four in the morning, only a few jobs were already claimed.
She scrolled through the chart, seeing the prize money you receive by accomplishing the certain job along with the difficulty level. Being extremely skilled in her job, she was able to take any on, always returning successful with a huge sum of money in her bank account. Having found a job she liked, she clicked on it. The job was faded, her name stamped onto the job to let others know it was taken.
A second later and she received a text message. It was all of the information on the job she had recently accepted. She turned off her phone, sighing.
With a tiny noise, she got out of bed. She opted to take a shower after she finished the job. There was no point in showering when she always returns sweating. She tied her hair back into a low ponytail. After searching for a while in her closet, she took out a black suit. She put it on quickly, fixing her tie and collar. Giving herself a look of approval in the mirror, she made sure to take her wallet, keys, and phone.
She headed to the door but then froze. She had forgotten something. Turning, she sighed in relief when she saw a pair of bras silver knuckles on the coffee table in the living room. She quickly got them and put them in her jacket pocket. Today was going to be a long day for her.
The girl hissed at the temperature. It was cold and she didn't bring a sweater. She opted to ignore it since a sweater would only bother her while she would be working. She ordered a ride and decided to wait it out.
In a few minutes a car pulled up in front of the building. She walked to it, seeing the driver lower the window. "Are you Myoui Mina?" He asked, making the girl nod.
She entered the back seat, putting on her seatbelt. She gave the man the address and they drove off in silence.
Myoui Mina was a part-time exorcist.
For as long as she could remember, she was able to see and touch ghosts. This of course separated her from everyone. Her classmates saw her as bad luck and left her alone. Her own family abandoned her when she told them the truth. Being young and abandoned, she had no means in order to provide for herself. That's when two years ago she met a woman that would offer her a job in her company.
24E (24/7 exorcists) is the name of the company. The company has some of the best exorcists, all working together to get rid of ghosts. All of these people in the company have the same ability as her or other gifted skills in which allows them to rid or track ghosts. It is common and actually recommended for exorcists to work in pairs within the company. Mina prefers to be alone, therefore going solo and not having to split any of the money she earned.
