Confusion clouded my features as I glanced at Anthony and the unidentified human. When I turned to face Jane and lifted an eyebrow, she merely shrugged in response.

If only I can see through their minds.

A soothing breeze blows to caress my pinkish and porcelain face, making a handful of silky raven hair block my line of sight.

What a great hair day everyone!

Facing up in the sky bathed with a mixture of purple and pink, I admired its beauty as I fixed my hair using my bare hands.

I then, averted my gaze towards the people in front of me. What caught my eye, surprised me. The unidentified human is staring at me with delated eyes while the other two are busy exchanging smiles and puppy eyes.

Why is he staring? Is my face smeared with dirt?

I waved at him, but he ignored me and look away -- so far, far away even reaching the suburbs of this small city situated over a mountainous area filled with trees dancing in sync to a silent melody.

Why does he continue to ignore me? Treating me like thin air, when in fact, I am completely human.

I stood, not uttering a single word despite being bombarded by questions on the back of my head.

Standing here with no one to converse with, since my bestfriend slash cousin got preoccupied with her dream boy, I sighed.

Somehow, being an audience here makes me think about food.

Wait, that guava I picked before coming to school!

I frantically check my pockets while keeping my senses active to what is happening to these people in front of me.

Argh, I can't find it. This is bad.

With arms crossed, I listened to their conversation.

"Uhm, Miss I --- (Anthony, her dream boy)

HUNGRY

"J-Jane, my name is Jane." -- (Hopeless romantic bestfriend/cousin of mine)

FOOD

"What a lovely name." -- (Sis' long term crush compliments her)

GUAVA

She smiled shyly, face slowly changes into sizzling hot chili pepper. Feeling Anthony's gaze upon her, she lowered her head a bit as her petite figure began to shiver a little.

Sis, calm down. CALM DOWN.

Thinking that it is my duty to come and rescue my beloved friend from an awkward situation, I was about to take a leap forward yet, I was taken aback by her words.

"Thank you, shall we go?" (Sis' face still red from her crush's compliment)

Whoa, where did you get that confidence girl?

Glancing down, I saw her fist clenched behind her back.

It must be hard for her to control those weird feelings errupting from her soul.
I wonder what it feels like.

"Sure, after you Jane." (Her dream boy acting like a gentleman now)

"Right, Mister?"

"Anthony, I'm Anthony Grace." he chuckled in a friendly tone.

Hmm, sis, I didn't know you are good at pretending. I thought you already know his name from the first day of high school which is last year. Back at that time, he was a new student in this school.

"Bro, maybe both of you should get going. I heard the nurse wil be out early today, around 4pm I guess." - the unidentified human interrupted, his broad bulky back leaning against the wrinkled bark of the mango tree.

Oh, thanks for reminding them ... unidentified human.

"Yes, we should probably start walking now Jane." he chimed and let out a soft laugh -- one you can't simply ignore.

Well, I think they're both love-smitten. Too bad, they didn't bother to wave us goodbye.
Now, I'm starting to believe that I'm thin air.

"I wonder where's my guava."
I mumbled under my breath.

Two figures gradually disappear from my sight as the distance between us increases.

Leaves falling,
Birds singing,
I'm starving.

_SILENCE REIGNS IN THE AIR _

Only the swooshing of the wind and growling of my stomach can be heard now.

Me, myself, and this unidentified human sat across each other. Roughly, one ruler apart. I did not bother talking to him first since he ignored me awhile ago.

I still can't find my guava.

"So, uhm, hi." - the unidentified human has spoken with a welcoming smile on his face -

Oh, I'm visible now.

"Hello" I responded, placing a hand under my chin.

"What's your name?" he asked, now facing me with legs spread apart.

"Nothing important." I replied with a frown.

"It is to me, young lady." - the unidentified human grinned -

"No, not gonna tell you." - I protested, arms crossed.

"I'm Francis." - he smiled from ear to ear, showing his pearly white teeth.

He's cute, has round eyes, straight nose and oval shaped face. Also, shiny moccha in color.

"Okay." - I answered and continued examining his physical features

Does he go to the gym regularly? Quite muscular.

W-wait, square root of two is his jersey number?!
How come I noticed it just now?

"I recently moved here because of my parents. They want me to be disciplined by my uncle. He's a strict military officer assigned here."

"Is that so, what did you do to deserve such treatment from your parents?"

He moved a few inches closer and smirked, "Tell me your name first."

"No" - I protested again

_ a quick sound of cracking _

Twigs snapped beneath a sole as a deep familiar voice spoke with authority, "Miss Katie Wise."

In the corner of my eye, I saw Francis grinning in delight even his eyes sparkled with joy.

A pretty good timing, Mr. Goldenhart
