Pitch black darkness stretched beyond the line where the sky bows to the foot of the mountain.
SWOOSH as the chilly wind swayed past from one branch to the other. Up above the night sky, stars glisten like sands in the shore.
Beneath the picturesque sea of stars, Mr. Goldenhart's nippa house stood at the heart of the muddy lake into which snakes swam at night.
As I walk carefully on the bridge leading to the nippa house, Spot tilted his head when his nose caught the scent of his dinner.
"Spot, come here good boy." I cheered as his creamy white tail wags in delight.
"ARFF!" - Terror barked and jumped behind my back, trying to get his huge paws inside the net bag that I'm carrying.
"Behave Terror, you better wait big boy." I commanded. "Let me find your food containers first."
Phew, thankfully Terror listens to me.
"Arf!" came a soft growl from Snow, the only girl in the pack.
"Hey there girl, how are you?" - I asked, kneeling on the floor. She repeatedly licked my face in reply.
"I guess your doing well, huh." I chimed as she happily wagged her pearly white tail.
A gentle tag on my shirt made my head turn towards it.
"Oh, it's just you Mr.Goldenhart."
"Please skip the formality, dear." he whispered into my ear then, kissed my forehead.
"I knew you were waiting for me here, love." - I said, then a smile never left my face when our eyes meet even causing my heart to melt with gladness.
"I can't believe you walked past me, dear."
"HAHAHA" - we laughed our heart out.
"Did you actually camouflage in the dark?" I asked teasingly. "Wow, that's a rare ability you got there."
Oh, why can't we always stay like this? Even in front of other people? Love, how long will we keep this from everyone?
"ARF! ARF!" - Blackie barked then, sticking a tongue out.
"Blackie!" - we cheered as he gladly jumped over us, knocked us out on the floor, and furiously licked our faces.
We laughed, and laughed over and over again. I guess it is only us and these adorable furry fellas know our little secret.

_ After some hours later on the wooden bridge _
"Dear"
"Yes?"
"When did you figured out that you had crush on me?"
"I NEVER HAD A CRUSH ON YOU HAHA."
"That hurts, my heart is in pain now."
"Well, I believe you had a secret crush on me."
"Of course, you are very beautiful."
"Yes, most of the time I caught you staring at me with puppy eyes a---
"THERE'S A KING COBRA!"
"OH MY! WHERE?!"
"SWIMMING MERILLY IN THE LAKE!"
"YOU SCARED ME!"
"HAHAHA!"
"I HATE YOU!"
"NO, YOU DON'T HAHA!"
