She didn't know if this was love,
She never had anyone show her what it was.
The most she got were only glimpses,
From princesses and princes from a storybook in someones mind. The lights were out,
A baby was sobbing - almost starved, barely alive,
Social service took her from her parents without a fight.
Placed in an orphanage,
She was promised she would have a better life,
A promise that was broken as she was kicked out sixteen years later,
But she still with the vision for a better life,
One where love was the rule, not the exception. His name was Vincent,
He had golden curls on top of his head,
She thought it was accurate because he was a treasure. She couldn't believe this was finally it,
Her journey had been a success:
She had found the love she needed in her life,
And he was here to stay.Honest,
With a heart of gold,
An artistic mind with good intentions,
And a soothing talker,
Who would comfort her day and night,
Mentioning how beautiful she was and how big of a mind she had.She wanted to convince herself this was finally it,
Finally the end of a life where she wasn't loved,
But without realizing it she stepped into the same life,
It was only a mirage that showed her what she wanted to see.
