                 3rd Person POV

A light ginger she cat crept among the shadows of the BlazeClan forest, towards the ShadeClan border. Every now and then she would glance around cautiously as if trying to find someone watching her. When she found none, she would continue on stealthily.

She didn't take long to make it to her destination, where a ginger tom stood waiting with a handsome smile on his face. They greeted each other with a couple of licks and nuzzles before sitting down in front of each other, on their own side of the border. The moon shone bright that night casting a silver sheen to everything its light touched.

"Leafblaze, we need to talk", the she cat mewed with a serious expression on her face.

"What's wrong?" the tom asked.

The she cat looked down. "I...I'm expecting kits...yours", she mumbled.

The tom's eyes grew wide. "Really?"

The she cat only nodded. "Oh, Honeywhisker" he breathed. He stepped over the border and came up beside her, pressing himself against her side comfortingly.

The she cat leaned into the warmth and comfort his body provided, and buried her face into his fur as tears started to run from her eyes. "What are we going to do?" she sobbed. "The clan is going to ask questions and what will I tell them? That my mate and the father of my kits is the ShadeClan deputy?"

He stroked his tail along her back comfortingly, waiting for her tears to subside before he tried to explain. When she finally calmed down, he spoke to her in a soft, gentle voice that sent shivers down her spine, like the first time they met. "It's ok, they don't have to know. The queens have a right to not say who the father of their kits is remember?"

"Yeh..."

"If anyone asks, tell them that you had a fight with the father and don't want to talk about it or, that he was a mousebrain and left you when he found out you were expecting."

"You wouldn't right?" the she cat asked, rather tensely.

"I wouldn't what?" he mewed, with a confused look.

"Leave", she answered, with a much colder tone than anticipated.

The tom purred. "Not in a million moons."

The she cat sighed in relief. She buried her muzzle into his chestfur and purred loudly. "Oh, where would I be without you?" she mumbled.

"Maybe you'd be asleep in your nest right now, and not at the border with a handsome tom", he teased, purring louder than before.

She laughed, pulling away from him and swatting his ear playfully. The two stood there for a few seconds, still laughing, before they calmed down and fell silent and serious once more.

"You do know that we won't be able to see each other once I'm in the nursery right?" the she cat pointed out questioningly.

"I know", the tom replied sadly.

"And you're ok with it?"

"If its for the good of you and our kits, it's ok with me", he smiled reassuringly.

"I love you", she whispered.

"I love you too", he returned, licking her ear affectionately. They stayed together for the rest of the night, spending the last moments they would spend with each other for a while, until the time when they needed to depart.

                  Riverkit's POV

"GOTCHA!" Silverkit yowled, tackling her sister (Riverkit) to the ground.

The sun was high in the sky as the kits of the BlazeClan nursery played under its warm rays. Leaf fall was in full swing, and the heat of the sun was becoming a luxury.

A few things have changed since the day of the rogue attack. One warrior was killed in the battle, a tom named Thunderflame. Meadowcloud and Owlfeather were getting awfully close, one of the senior warriors (Whiteheart) had been acting very strangely and depressed, and a new queen moved into the nursery just a few days after the battle. Riverkit and her siblings were now five and a half moons old and Copperflame's kits were now at one and a half.

For some reason, the reddish brown tom hadn't come to visit his kits in the nursery ever since the day he named them. He would sometimes stare at them when they were out in the camp clearing, at Crystalkit especially, but never attempt to approach them, let alone talk to them. His kits knew who their father was, but since he was never around, they'd begun to see Lionclaw as their own father. They'd ask questions about him to Streamfur though, Lightningkit especially, and she would tell them about him. But when they asked why he never came to visit them, she had no answer. And it saddened them greatly.

Riverkit giggled as she wriggled out of her sister's grasp. She stood up, only to be tackled to the ground once more by two balls of fur, one on each side of her. Crystalkit on her left, and Lightningkit on her right.

"Get out of our territory, you filthy rogue!" Lightningkit growled, but sounded more like a squeak.

"Yeh. This land is ours!" Crystalkit joined in, letting out a mock growl that was just as squeaky, if not even squeakier than her brother's.

Riverkit pushed them off gently, and got into a mock battle stance. "I'm not taking orders from filthy clan sckum!" she mock growled in protest.

Lightningkit lunged towards her, Crystalkit following after him, both letting out squeaky battle cries. They all tumbled to the ground in a mass of silver, white, and black fur. Their mock fight was interrupted however, by a loud shriek that sounded from the nursery.

The three kits untangled themselves from each other and stood up. Mistykit, Silverkit and Nettlekit, who were also in a mock battle of their own, stood up as well. The six kits looked around curiously, before seeing Streamfur, who was sharing tongues with Lionclaw, rush into the nursery.

She burst out only seconds later, yowling for Hailberry. "HONEYWHISKER IS KITTING!" she yowled.

Hailberry came out of the medicine den, carrying some herbs with him and went into the nursery, Icekit following behind him, a stick in between her jaws.

The kitting didn't take long, in fact, it barely took anytime at all. Riverkit and her littermates were allowed to go inside the nursery, not long after the kitting had ended.

When they came in, they all were already bursting with excitement, eager to meet their new denmates. They crowded around Honeywhisker's nest, staring down at three bundles of fur nestled at her belly.

"Their so small", Nettlekit commented.

"Just like you were when you were born", Streamfur purred from behind them.

"What are their names?" Crystalkit asked.

Honeywhisker rose her head and looked at her kits with all the love and affection a mother could give. "The dark ginger she kit is Yewkit, the fox red tom is Foxkit, and the brown tabby and white tom is Eaglekit", she introduced.

"Such lovely names", Streamfur purred.

"Thank you", Honeywhisker purred back, laying her head back down on her paws.

Streamfur turned to her seven kits and mewed "Let's leave them alone to rest, Honeywhisker is tired and its time for your nap." She ushered the kits away, into her nest.
