Conner's eyes shot open as an unknown world was created around him. A world of unimaginable landscapes and civilization. City's of advanced technology and teaming with life.

Conner: they look....human.

Conner watched in fascination as these so called "humans" live their daily lives. They were so calm and happy. Nothing was out of order. No crimes, no thugs, no villains, and no hero's.

No super hero's.

Conner: a world where people like us, people like me aren't needed.

Conner continued to think of all the things a world like this could accomplish, but then it happened. The world was covered in shadows. The ground ripped open and erupted into fire, cities crumbled to dust, and life was erased.

Conner: what's happening!

Conner stood helplessly as the world was destroyed. He tried to help but he couldn't  reach them in time. He fell to his knees and watched as a whole civilization was reduced to ashes. Then someone emerged from the rubble. A figure in black armor that covered his entire body. On his chest was a large shield and symbol like conners but this one was different in shape. He walked towards Conner with haste, pushing large pieces of ruble and debris out of the way.

Conner: who are you? What's happening here?

The figure stopped before Conner standing at the same height as him. The figure raised his hand and signaled to the sky.

Conner: I don't understand.

Conner looked into the Smokey sky and saw a light. The clouds of smoke dispersed as a massive ship entered the planets atmosphere. Conner then turned to the figure who stared forward. Without hesitation the figure gave the order.

???: destroy it. Destroy them all.

Conner: NO!

The ship fired a large beam of light completely engulfing the planet and erased everything before conners eyes. Including him.

Conner POV

Conner: STOP! Wha- what?

I was back in my teams dorm. Diana was still fast asleep on my arm. I slowly lifted her off me and sat up on the edge of the bed. I was drenched in sweat and my heart felt ready to explode. Then something came to my attention. I felt something cold in my hand. I looked down too see the black key sitting in my palm.

Conner: how did you get there?

I looked over to my bags where I kept the key. They seemed untouched. I tried to remember if I had taken it out but I couldn't think of a time I had.

Conner: this is too confusing. I need to get some air.

I got up and put on my suit and jacket. I Left the room as quietly as I could so I didn't wake up any of the girls. If they are anything like Barbra when she wakes up then I'd be a goner for sure. As I walked down the halls I started to examine the key a little closer. It was cold, colder than usual. While turning the corner i accidentally bumped the wall with my shoulder and dropped the key. When i picked it back up i felt the temperature of the key drop the higher i brought it. So i brought the key to the floor and felt it get warmer. It also started to change temperature depending on the direction it was facing. That's when I realized it was pointing towards something. I started trying to figure out where it was leading me so I kept walking around the the school until it led me outside.
